To Cancel Weekly Calendar Events

I was searching through the calendar today when I noticed a number of weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly events were marked by a member as "CANCELED" although they still appeared on the "CALENDAR OF EVENTS". The reason for this is because the event was never edited to include a "Final Event Date".

There is no provision to delete a calendar posting. Once its there, its there for possibly eternity and a recurring event will keep showing up in the "Calendar of Events" unless given instructions that the event no longer exists. Entering the word "Canceled" in the title will not do the trick.

What's needed, for a recurring event, is to enter a closing date when the tournament no longer exists. This is done by first clicking on "edit this event". Then, when in the edit screens for that event appear, select "Select Event Dates". A screen similar to the following will appear:

    Select event dates
    Casino:

    Duration:
    This event occurs:

    Recurring Event Details
    Event Begins:
    (optional) (mm/dd/yyyy)
    Weekdays:
    Monday
    Tuesday
    Wednesday
    Thursday
    Friday
    Saturday

    Week of Month:

If this event has a scheduled final event date:
    Final Event Date: (mm/dd/yyyy)

At the bottom of that page is a input line named "Final Event Date". A date must be entered there to stop the event from appearing on the calendar listing. If an exact date is not known, just enter any date prior to the current date - that will do the trick also.

As I said before, there is no provision to delete an event once it is entered so using dates is the only way to stop a listing.

I have already entered a final event date on several events I found that someone marked as "canceled" in the title line. Hopefully I found them all so the calendar listing should be a little cleaner in-that only active tournaments are shown.

I'm sure most here appreciate the efforts made by those who post and update the calendar - I know I do. So let's keep it up and if you haven't posted to the calendar, now is a good time to start.

    Thank You for your time.

Thanks for the info. Just REMOVED a "CANCELLED" Monthly Event from the Calendar.
