    I'll call today, make all the proper inquiries, and post whatever info I can find out. Since I live an hour away from this casino, I may go on Saturday.

    Pechanga casino $1,000,000 tournament

    Okay here is the tournament info:

    The finals will be held January 6/7, 2007

    Qualifying started on July 1st, 2006 and will be held on Wed. at 7:00 pm and Sat. at 12:00 pm till Dec. 23rd, 2006.

    The entry for each bi-weekly tournament is $100 + $17 expense fee + $3 service fee.

    This is an elimination format I was told, but the first round is unclear how many they can play and how many advance from each table to the semifinals. In the semifinals they will have 49 players (7 tables, 7 players per table) with only the winner of each table advancing to the finals.

    The 7 finalist will qualify for the $1,000,000 final event on Jan. 6/7, 2007.

    The players start with $1,000 NCV chips in round one.
    The semifinals and finals the players start with $2,000 in NCV chips.

    All players will draw for table and seating assignments.

    No betting limits.

    21 hands or 25 minutes whichever comes first (for every round).

    Deal rotates.

    BJ pays 2 to 1.

    At the start of hand 17 all players must bet in order.

    No surrender.

    Qualifying bi-weekly winners receive:

    1st = 40%
    2nd = 20%
    3rd = 15%
    4th = 10%
    5th = 7%

    Thanks for the info RE Pechanga. Is there a way I can print only one thread like your last post? btw, I did a mapquest and it will take me 2 hrs 31 minutes, without traffic, to get down there and hopefully get a seat. Are you going to drive out from Texas? LOL

    TIA

    I'm driving, just the wrong way!

    Yes I am, but going the other way!

    I have to drive the tables and equipment to Florida for the cruise tournaments. Where were these events last year when I drove to San Diego?....LOL

    Maybe I can hit big at the Gold Strike next month and fly out there for a qualifier or two after the cruise.

    Wow 20% fee and no one has said boo about it

    Is 20 % less than 8 % ?

    Actually, the payouts that Tx mentioned only add up to 92%! Including the other fees, is this a 28% fee? Maybe all that money goes into the final event prize pool.

    Lot of holes left unanswered

    The VIP, events booking, and BJ pit gave me all the information they had, but there is a lot still unanswered about the tournament.

    The 21 hands or 25 minutes kind of bothers me as well.

    As far as the 20% and the 8% unacounted for I imagine that all together they don't add up to $1,000,000 so even though they maybe a negitive EV for each bi-weekly qualifier, I think it could still be a very positive event to play in, for locals for sure.

    Barney, I believe you mean to print just one post in a particular thread. Here's how:

    Right-click on the number of the post (in the upper right corner), in this case #5. Then choose Open in New Window and print it in the usual way.

    If you want to insert a link to it in another post you are writing, choose Copy Shortcut. This will put the url for the new window on the clipboard. Then you can paste it into the code for the link.

    To find out how to create a URL hyperlink open the FAQ menu (at the top of every page) and click on the link, Reading and Posting Messages. Then click the first FAQ in that section about special codes/tags. At the end of the question use the click here link for more info on vB code. Finally, pick [/u][/b] from the list. A url li...e above, just print out this post. :D --jr

    Pechanga

    Always wondering if Im spelling it right! the 20% fee is only 20 bucks. Thats about the price of taking 2 of my three kids to Carls Jr. And it doesnt even compare to the other 100 Ill have to spend on gas and food for the day not even counting a potential 100+ motel room. But, at least you know you are open to a chance of a free entry to a major tournament. For many of us far away from Vegas, and such, it is worth it IMO. Hell, some even venture off to Aruba. That cant be cheap! Imagine that!

    Pechanga Casino's $1,000,000 Tournament

    Mayan(I think I spelled that wrong) Beltran, who is in charge of tournaments at Pechanga, called me back last night with some information on the tournament. It appears that most of Tx's post is accurate. The 21 hands or 25 minutes is in place to keep the flow of the rounds, but he stated that they have always finished the 21 hands under the time limit. I told him who we were and that we were trying to get him some more players, but we simply wanted accurate information for the members before they made the commitment to travel to his tournament. He said he would join the site, and add any new information as it became available.

    Splits are tough at Pechanga

    Wow, hope no one needs a split late at the Pechanga tournament!

    I just had a call from Elyssez who drove to Pechanga today to try and qualify for their $1,000,000 tournament. She was a little behind going into the last hand when she was dealt a hard 20, two 10 value cards. Needed to get extra money on the table she split them only to be told by the dealer that she couldn't!

    Seems at Pechanga you can only split pairs (2-10's, 2-Jacks, etc...). Now it gets even better, not only do they have to be a pair to split, they have to be the same suit to be able to split!

    This is also their regular table rules as well. Actually I like that somewhat for the tournaments, it makes having the lead at the end a lot more important and gives the other players less ways to make their comeback against you.

    Anyway good luck if you re-buy Elyssez, let us know what happens and thanks for the update on the Pechanga rules.

    Changes from round to round?

    Wow, Elyssez just called back and in her next round they told her that her 10 value cards have to be a pair, but they don't have to be suited now...LOL

    I would have gone NUTS if I lost the first round because of one dealers was using one rule and another dealer in the next round was using another rule.

    Sounds like they really need printed rules.

    Also they 150 players per qualifier to give away 7 seats. They are only give one seat away today since they only had 28 players signed up.

    The rule about suited pairs for splitting was only for 10 value cards (if it is correct). I asked Elyssez to check with Mayan when he gets in at 7:00 PST.

    She is will fax me a list of complete rules ASAP.
