OK, I'm more than a little disappointed with this event so far, but it could still turn into a very big deal. Here's the scoop:
A whopping $1.5 million in cash and prizes will be awarded during the International Casino Games

    • $750,000 worth of prizes in close to 50 tournaments, each with prize money between $5,000 and $40,000 leading up to…
    • a luxury Caribbean Cruise final for 100 lucky finalists and their partners, worth $500,000 where…
    • the winner will walk away with the International Casino Games Champion title and $250,000 in cash!
Details on exactly how these tournaments will work are still sketchy, even though the first event is underway already. The initial events are at Royal Vegas Casino, with future events scheduled at other online casinos in the same Fortune Lounge group.

Sounds pretty good so far, eh? So, why am I a little disappointed? The initial events for this don't deserve the name tournament at all. Instead, they are merely prizes awarded to the players who wager the most money during the tournament timeframe. The first event has already begun at Royal Vegas and runs through July 10th. The winners will be announced on July 11th.

This is the first of many events. I am hoping that some of the events, particularly at other casinos in the group, will be structured more like a real competition.

REGARDLESS, I think it is worthwhile to play in all of these events. In every case, there are drawing entries awarded for additional seats in the 100 player finals. So, whether the format improves or not, some of us here at BJT need to be aboard that cruise ship.

If you already have an account at Royal Vegas, you should have received information about this via email as well.

It appears that the events are structured differently depending on whether you are an existing player at these casinos or a new player.

In the last day or so, they've added a new button near the top of the page, that says 'Existing Player Click Here'. This will help eliminate some of the confusion about how to participate if you already had accounts at some of the casinos involved.

Mass confusion still reigns in these events, and so far, they pretty much suck.

Here's a message I posted on a trade forum to the Fortune Lounge guys.
I guess I'll wager a bit this week, just in case I happen to win a drawing. Can you imagine what the field of competitors will be like on this boat? :D

Unfortunately, I'm no help here. The events for existing players like me don't have a tournament leaderboard, and are structured completely differently.

If you do find out more about how this works for new players, please post about your experience.

Sorry I'm not more help. I guess customer support at the casino is your best bet.
