Status report I'm just full of typos the last day or two. The date in this thread was wrong. I've corrected the date now. The correct date for this tournament is Sunday, Dec 5th at 3 PM EST. I also cleaned up the information presented on the members page, and removed some links that were confusing. As of this post, there are 49 seats remaining. BTW, Since I'm sponsoring the event, I figure I shouldn't participate, so I'll be a spectator this time around.
Call for help if you need it. The instructions for registering for the FreeRoll event are on a link you'll see inside the Members Area. However, if you're still having trouble getting registered, feel free to give me a call. 601-310-4112. Thanks, -Ken-
I'm in! Sounds like fun to me and count me in. Although I think you should also play Ken. It will give us lesser mortals something to shoot for if we can knock off the king.
I Agree wih Kevin Ken, Please play, we all want to compete with the best for the challenge, it would put an asterisk on someone's win if you didn't play, enter and then withdraw if the majority thinks you shouldn't play. Rook
You should play Ken! This is a "for fun" and learning tournament...and there is no doubt that you'll add both to the experience. Just promise to have another tournament if you win!
Poll: Should Ken play? OK, I've posted a poll to answer this dilemma. You can vote here. Whatever the majority decides, I'll do.
AOL users may want to read this I know there have been some issues with tournament registration if you are using the AOL browser. When you click the link inside the casino to register from the tournament, you might get a blank page in the AOL Browser. Here's a way to work around it: First, open Internet Explorer (not the AOL browser). Click on Tools and choose Internet Options. Go to the 'Programs' tab. Check the box at the very bottom, that says "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser." (If it's already checked, you're probably OK already.) Click Apply, and then OK. Close Internet Explorer. Open Internet Explorer again. It will ask "Internet Explorer is not currently your default browser. Make it the default?" Click Yes. Now when you go through the Global Player casino and click on the link, it will open Internet Explorer instead of AOL, and that will likely work much better. Again, feel free to call if you need help. Thanks! One more thing: If you're getting a message from the casino that says it can't connect to the server, that's a different issue, and is probably related to firewall problems.
Newbie come to conquer Howdy folks A BIG high 5 from Glasgow here! Though I've been playing blackjack for about 2 years now, this will be my very first tourament, ( they don't seem to do much in the way of touraments here in Glasgow, UK, and have never entered a on line one and the thought of battling it out with least a couple of the greatest tourny players ( Duh! probably will last 5 mins ) makes the hairs on the back of my neck rise I'm really looking forward to it and thanks very much Ken for this opportunity to get some experience to play a tourament, great idea! take care and be lucky Cheers Colin
The Shoe Thank you for hosting the tournament on 12/5. I have registered & read the rules but have a question about the 6 deck deal. Will it be from a continously shuffled shoe, or will it be dealt through to a certain % or number of cards?
Welcome Colin! It's nice to get some cross-Atlantic action involved. Springbac, I've sent that re=shuffle question to GP. I'll let you know. The event is more than half full as of right now.
I'm in. The poll was pretty definitive. 17-1 saying I should play. I just registered. I'm looking forward to it!
Penetration will be good, at 80% I got the answer from GP: The 6-deck game in the tournament will be dealt to 80%. As of this morning, only 15 seats are left.
King Ken I'm glad I knew you before you got to be KING, LOL All these times I beat you and I never knew I was beating Royalty. Larry webb
The KING I certainly hope the KING is making some $ out of this web site for several reasons. First, I really enjoy it very much & find it helpful. Secondly, there is a lot of work in creating, maintaining, monitoring, and responding on a site like this. And, again thank you KING for being so responsive to everyone.
MIT team I talked to a few of the MIT team today and told them about the online tournament. I think 3-5 will sign up to play (if space is avalible). That sould fill up the tournament. We'll see you on the 5th, Good Luck to all.
