BETCOM.COM is holding another BJ tourney. Their prize pool is quite interesting. If you finish in round 1 with $4k, you are in the money. They offer 25 cash & wager prizes, and 26th place + get a free superbowl prop bet.

    Thanks for the reminder BJYEEEK!

This tournament looks even better than the last one. I made the final 15 players last time, but ended up near the bottom of the standings, winning a $100 NBA prop bet. This time there's still $15,000 in prize money (no restrictions!), and also the opportunity to win an awesome Las Vegas Superbowl trip.

Another key change: You're guaranteed a spot in the finals by accumulating $4000 in chips. Last time, you had to guess what the cutoff would be. You'll still have to estimate an appropriate target once you're in the finals, but at least there's no problem knowing how to get that far.

I'll definitely be playing this one, and I'm basically committed to spending however many $50 entry fees it takes to make the cut into the finals.

One more thing: If you've been wondering how to support BJT, this is a good opportunity. The first affiliate who refers 10 players to the tournament gets $500. That sounds like a good Christmas present for me! Get signed up soon! ;)

Here are the details, from Betcom.com:

    Betcom Tourney 2 X 1 buy in

I read the post and decided to check out the details, what is interesting also is the 2 X 1 buy in. More bang for my buck, looks like fun I'm definatly in for this Tournament!

Yeh, I just entered today to take advantage of the early bird offer. But remember have to enter before the 1st of jan to receive this offer. Prizes on offer look great. Lots of chances. See you in the finals.

Hmm. Two new members, both posting in this thread on the same day. It looks pretty spammy, but I'll leave 'em be. It _is_ a nice looking event, and they did provide one service. I didn't know about the 2 for 1 entry deal, apparently good prior to Jan 1st.

    I qualified this morning

While a few were sleeping off the night before, I entered around 9 AM. Had to buy in twice ( busted out the first time ). Finished with around $4,200 the second time so I'll see you at the finals on the 6th.

I hope everyone has a great New Years!

Congrats Tahoe - I'm in too!

Sure was glad to qualify on the first try - last tourney I tried twice with no luck. Didn't even need the free second try from the early bird.

And by the way for those of you looking to qualify for the Game Master tourney at Global Player, there will not be a 4-peat because I busted out and won't be chasing my losses. Good luck to the rest of you! At least keep it in the family...

There must b a lot of participation based on the slow speed of trying to play. I gave up after 4 hands, but will try again later.

    The early bird 'mulligan'

I needed my early bird second try. It was not automatically available. When I attempted to re-enter, it said I didn't have enough funds in the account. I contacted the live support via the chat button and they're in the process of adding $50 to my casino account now.

So, if you're in that situation, you'll likely have to do the same. If you had funds in the account, they'd probably need to refund the entry in a similar fashion.

    Total Money on 1st Round

Just wondering. The rules state if you get at least $4,000 in the first round, you automatically advance to the finals or "money round". Is there any advantage getting $10,000 vs $4,000 or is just an ego thing to see how high a score you can get? Betcom.com posts a leader board that notifies you if you are in the top 6, basically encouraging you to spend an additional $50.00 to get a higher score

I know it matters in the finals to determine who wins what prize, but the prelims?

Las Vegas trip is prize for top qualifier

The top qualifier gets the superbowl trip to Las Vegas. I qualified on the first try, but used my second free one to try and better my score.

    Las Vegas Trip

I used the chat feature to ask "Sussy" the question about the Las Vegas trip and was told the trip was to be awarded to the winner of the final. She said that if I had a score of over $4000 that I did not need to use my second early bird entry. I was going to try the "improve my score" 2nd entry too. If someone hears a different answer, please let us know.

    Total Money on 1st Round

The reason they are posting the score is whoever gets the highest score in the qualifying round wins a all expenses trip to vegas for their super bowl party..

    different answer

I, too, used the chat feature and James, the casino manager, told me that the trip was for the highest qualifier - so encouraged me to use my second free try to up my score after qualifying. Conflicting info!

    chasing losses

Sometimes chasing losses works. However, I had to risk $1008 and a lot of nerves to find out.

I don't think I'll make it to the semis nevertheless, but doubling $1008 is also ok for me. :)

    New Life!

Selecticom, if I end up getting that 4th spot you have no-one to blame but yourself - LOL! :) I decided to add up to another $50 and am now up over 100% (something I didn't expect to see).

Also, Betcom added some graphics to indicate that Dr. Bass was right about the Las Vegas trip so I used my second entry to try to better my score
but I busted out. I hope someone from here has the $top score!

Their Hand Counter Does Not Work Correctly

When I Was Playing My 2nd Round The Hand Count Showed 4 Hands Remaining When The Message Box Came Up Showing That The Hands Had Expired. So There Was No Choice But To Accept It At That Point. Has Anyone Else Had That Problem? :(

    yes

Yes, I had it happen on hand 48 - after an error statement appeared. I used chat to check it out - but got no real answer - I also had trouble with the counter on round 1 - had to log out and back in to see what hand count was.
I sent a message to the casino manager about it - but didn't get a response.

    Hi unluckygem,

please get that 4th spot - I'm looking forward to end your streak personally. :D

However, whatever may happen in the semis and final - there is no doubt about this month's GM tournament big winner...

    Good night (5:30 am here)

    Congrats selecticom-a good battle!

And you won it in impressive fashion...I got so close but then almost lost it all again. I've worked my way back but that 4th spot will be coveted by many! I hold no illusions about the streak...even if I do manage a spot in the semis this month's field is TOUGH.
