Prepare properly by... 1 - Reading the rules to know what type of BJ tournament you'll be playing and using the proper strategy 2 - Read Ken Smith's online book on strategy : How to Win Blackjack Tournaments. Hello, Murph36, and welcome to our little group! I looked up your tournament on the Calendar here, and the rules for that event are mighty sparse. Perhaps if you could get a few details and post them, folks could offer strategy advice that you'd find helpful. I asked many, many questions before my first time, both here on the forum and in private messages and emails. Not one single person turned me down, and the advice offered was always excellent. If you're sitting there feeling nervous, think about this and smile. Both Reachy and I (on separate occasions) busted our live game TBJ cherries on network TV shows. So did Deb (Angelrun5) although her show hasn't been broadcast. When the nerves are jangling & the palms are sweaty, just remember that it could be worse! Maxwell has stated that his first BJT produced a win, no small feat by anyone's standards. I think that I can speak for everyone here in wishing you the best of luck, skill, and good cards in your first tournament, and hope that your success matches Maxwell's. Go get 'em!!! :gun:

Read Ken's book and do what it says. After playing many tournaments, find your own style and tweak the basics if you so desire.
