It's finally here! The Upcoming Blackjack Tournament Schedule is available here at BlackjackTournaments.com. Here's the link to the new Members Area Don't panic. There's no subscription involved. All you need is a username for the message board here, and you're all set. Check out the 'Calendar of Upcoming Events'. Now, there's something I should explain... At the moment, you'll find some events listed in Mississippi, Las Vegas, and a few in Minnesota. Where are all the others you ask? Well, here's the deal: Getting accurate and timely information about these events is tough, as you know if you've ever called to ask about a tournament. The idea with our shared community here is that we can all contribute information to the schedule. That means every visitor has the ability to add new events or make corrections on any event in the schedule. So, if you know of an event that's not listed, please click on the 'Add Event' link, and answer the questions. In fact, if you'd like to try out the process, you can go through the screens, and just cancel out before clicking the final 'Save This Event' button. An 'Update History' of each listed event shows who entered it, who made changes, and when. The 'Recent Updates' page will show everything that's been updated lately, so it might be a good spot to check for new information on a regular basis. I'm excited to finally be opening the doors on this feature, and I hope you'll share my enthusiasm after you see it. More features are still on the way, but you can already search by event size, schedule, and region. So, what are you waiting for? Check it out: Members Area
Please let know of any problems Please post any comments, suggestions or complaints about the new schedule section in this thread. Thanks!
Of course, it could just be me... ...But I was unable to sign up as my username and E-mail address are both already in use, which, of course, I am aware of. And it can't be the password as I can sign on to this forum with same.
You don't need to re-register, and you should be able to log on using the same username and password from the message board. In fact, given that you were able to log in and post this message, you should have been able to go directly to the members area without even needing to log in. So, if you're still having trouble, I'll definitely need to find out why. If you're still unable to access the Members Area, please let me know, and tell me what browser you are using.
Too Late I've already done the long division on the subject. I agree with your analysis. As stated previously, it probably just me.
I've just finished adding all the Las Vegas mini-tournaments that I know of, and the list is getting pretty long already. I'll work on the Midwest, adding any events I can find mentioned on the Web. You Minnesota guys feel free to jump in and add whatever events you're aware of!
Tournament schedule Kenneth: what an outstanding effort on your part! Lot's of work, I am certain, but such a worthwhile contribution. Congrats and thanks a bunch.
Thanks For The Work Thanks for the calendar! We thought we had lost contact with the tournament world when Blackjack Confidential went out of print. This calendar is going to be much better.
What about Canadian Tourny's? Ken, I did not try to add it yet but the one I had previously added to the calender is the $250,000 CND Master's of Blackjack which takes place in Niagara Falls, Canada. Is there a way to add a Canadian Region? Maybe to the Outlying U.S. region? Or maybe just adding areas of Canada as regions? Looks great though. Thanks, Dan
First Canadian event posted Thanks for the reminder DanMayo. You probably noticed that I ask 'Currency' type, but never got arround to adding any Canadian casinos to the list. That's fixed now, and I've posted the Casino Niagara qualifiers, using the information you provided in the previous calendar. https://www.blackjacktournaments.com/casinos/236/ Using the final issue of BJC, I posted the prize money each month as $20K, rather than the $17K represented from 1st to 7th place. I assume there's extra money in there somewhere. Likewise, I copied the championship prize structure from last year's final event. Make corrections if needed. Thanks! Now I need to go check for Casino de Montreal events.
Casino de Montreal events were added immediately after the above post... Today I have a bug fix to report. Some weekly events were appearing in the listings despite not having checked the 'Weekly Events' box. It's fixed now. Note that some monthly events unpredictable schedules, and are therefore likely to appear under One-Time events instead of Monthly. I'm amazed at how many events are already available. For the remainder of September, a full search returns a staggering 386 events.
Question about adding to tourney list I notice that there are no Northwest casinos listed - am I the only one out here playing BJ? <g> I've only been playing tournament BJ for a few weeks, and am steadily learning more and more about the game and the casinos out here. Would anyone be interested in some Washington listings? If so, are there any guidelines on which tournaments you'd like to add to your list? For example, I've been playing weeklies at 3 local casinos (entry $15 - $25, 1st prize $350-$750) but there are also a number of much larger casinos and quarterly/annual tournaments for real money. I'm really enjoying this site/forum and look forward to learning much more.
Thanks BuckHawk! Absolutely, we're interested! I just finished the Nevada casino list last week, and now I'll get to work on the states of Washington, Oregon, and California. Please check back in a day or two to see what progress I've made, and by all means, if you know of events at a casino that's not listed, make me aware of the casino so I can add it. Email or Private Message are fine, or you can post the casino name and city information here. In particular, my references for Washington state casinos may be lacking, so we'll see how it goes. Welcome aboard! Thanks, -Ken-
Washington Casinos added, card rooms not yet. The state of Washington is a busy tournament area. I've just finished adding 26 Washington casinos to the list, and I found 9 tournaments already. Mostly monthly and weekly events. BuckHawk, one question: I haven't added any of the 'Card Rooms' in Washington to the list yet, but I know they offer blackjack and I bet they have tournaments, right?
Oregon Casinos added I just finished adding the Oregon casinos to the list, including six weekly blackjack tournaments, and a November event at Seven Feathers Casino where the casino is adding $4000 to the prize pool. As always, any further information about these events is appreciated. Just click on 'Edit this event' and add any missing information that you obtain. Enjoy! -Ken-
I hear that many do, I'll let you know about the local ones I check out in the near future. Yes, Washington has more casinos than most people would guess, especially after the explosion of Native American casinos (the only ones in this state that can have slot machines.) BTW, the Lucky Dog casino has no BJ, only 75 slot machines and a bar. Tiny place about 5 miles from my house. Tomorrow night I'm off for more " research" at local casinos. Planning to play a weekly tournament where all of the entry money goes to the prize pool, the casino doubles first place, and BJ pays 2 to 1 on all the tables. I'll add info to your listings, Ken, as I have time to do so. I'll add my thanks to the others for this great site. I can't tell you how many folks I chat with at the tables are visitors, and say they had no idea that there were casinos out here. Having a site to look up local casinos before planning a vacation trip - that's priceless! CJ
More states completed Casinos are now listed for: California: 49 casinos, with 11 already having events listed. North Dakota: 5 casinos, 1 event. Kansas: 4 casinos, 1 event. If you know of additional events in these areas, please post them. Thanks!
Attachments??? Ken, Is there a way to setup the ability to add attachments to a Tourney on the calendar? Or is there already a way to do this that I am overlooking? I try to bring back a clean copy of the rules for each tourney that I have entered and scan them and would like to attach them to the event in the calander. The 3 events I have attended so far repeat every couple of months and thought it would be neat to share the current "Official Rules" with everyone. I have attached the Casino Niagara rules to a post but I think that they tend to get lost there. I have another couple of sets that I would like to post (St. Ignace and Majestic Star) and will attach them to a post if it is not possible to add them to the calendar. Thanks, Dan
Info needed on Florida boats Hey, TahoeWolf and Instagator, if you get a chance, take a look at the Florida casino cruises I have listed, and see if there are any that I should add to the list. That is, if you haven't made them all cry uncle yet! Here's the casino list (now split by state): http://www.blackjacktournaments.com/members/casinolist.php Thanks, -Ken-
Florida Casinos Sun Cruz also has a ship sailing out of St. John's Pass, 1-800-474-DICE. Does anyone know if Tunica is full? IG
