A creative argument in favor of online gambling?

I sat down tonight to write the letters to my Senators and Represntative expressing disappoinment (except to thank John Warner for refusing to allow the UIGE to be added to the defense spending bill) when I came up with this unusual argument in favor of internet casinos. Now understand, that this argument can only be made by folks from states without any casinos at all.

From the last paragraph of my letter I quote " So I have a couple of choices if I wish to gamble. One was to go online at my home and waste a few bucks. The other is to drive 7 hours each way to Atlantic City and waste the same few bucks. Aside from the time spent traveling, my fuel-efficient automobile will consume 18 gallons of gasoline. So it's not too hard a stretch to say that by gambling online I was helping to promote America's energy independence."

    Another valid point

One I was thinking of is that online gaming allowed alot more people to make a living gambling. The people who made livings gambling had to put "professional gambler" on their tax returns and get their winnings taxed. Now those people are not only out of the "job" but the government doesn't get any money from them, and if they go on welfare they actually have to give money TO them.

You have to joking I'll bet atleast 9999 out of 10,000 never declared internet winnings on their taxes. People don't even do that in B&M casinos unless issued W2g's.
