Does anyone know if there are any regular BJ tournaments in Atlantic City? I checked the schedule here and I don't see any listed. I heard there was one this weekend but that was invitation only, I'm looking for public ones. Thanks!
I am unaware of any open tournaments there. AC has been a tournament wasteland for years and I really don't understand why. It seems to me that regular tournaments would be a good marketing tool for the casinos there.
AC Invitational Tournaments aren't too hot either The most common format for AC invitational bj tournaments seems to be playing something like a shoe against the entire field of entrants with the top six advancing to the final table. Typical prize money is $25k. The Sands runs this kind of tournament most months. Harrahs seems to run a couple of these a year. I know Resorts used to run this kind of tournament fairly frequently, but I don't know if they still do. A few years ago both Taj and Trop would occasionally run some bigger prize fund invitational tournaments with the more standard table advance types of formats, but I don't believe that those kinds of tournaments occur very often any more in AC.
