Paradise Casinos in Yuma has permanently canceled their monthly BJ Tournaments. I called both their sites today,again, seeking info on if they were going to start up their tourneys - and finally talked with someone who, seemed knowledgeable - and the word is 'no more monthly tournaments'. I think this relates to their casino relocation, they still have their small AZ casino, but their California casino has moved from just over the AZ/CA border to Andrade, about 10 miles west, very close to the Los Algodones Mexico border crossing. This new casino, now called Q-Resort, is much larger, has a hotel, etc. - Was told they are planning a major BJ tournament (three-day event) for July. No other news, and, of course, may not come off. I offered them my volunteer services, of course, if they wanted advice on format, attracting players, etc. Will let you know if I learn anything more.
Coolness....and let them know you know an event planner who also knows tournaments as well who would volunteer the first one out in exchange for lodging/meals. Especially if they want to go for a large turn-out and have socials planned to make it a friendly event.
