*** ** *-* / *-* Funny, thought yesterday was their big event. Played, bounced in first round AGAIN, saw you there. Then noticed they have another one winner for next Saturday. Using up my tech's for that I guess and then I'll go get more if needed till Sat. Nov. 11. And then we'll see if they have more. Maybe since they offered a free roll in St. Kit's, they'll just award a spot for the most frequent loser. You want to match me in that?
Who were you? Didn't know you where in that one, who did you play as? The only other name a recognised from a scan of the list was Rando. I was actually thought I was in with a chance yesterday. Got bounced on the final elimination hand of the semi. Bugger! Cheers Reachy
Reach Made it farther tha n I did. I posted my aliasesss on a couple of requested requests. Didn't get to brick with ya, cause you went farther than I. Used my last tec ju;st a second ago, so now its back to the 7th circle of hell.
Reachy, I just earned a TEC point on a 30 hand match! Now I understand why the UBT have less and less people in the tourneys compared to Bet21.com. The TEC's are getting harder and harder to get!
I've still got a bunch of TECs - since I wasn't able to play in the tourneys last week - was traveling - so will play this week - best way to get TECs - least painfull - do a 'TEC-run" - play three tables at once - and COUNTER-BET - when they go all-in on the first hand - just go min - and keep going min until the drunk-all-in-guys crash out - you'll win about 1 of 3 this way -
Not sure it's that much harder Sometimes you do end up in a good fight for a TEC. Once you've doen 16 rounds or so you want to get something out of it even if it is worth pretty much nothing. Consider that freerolls at Bet21 are for nowt why would you bother at playubt? I still have some TECs and will probably try and continue to replensih my stocks everytime I bust out of a freeroll! Plus I still think there is some value in the TEC games for practice purposes, chasing down big chip leaders, practicing discipline, whatever... I can't be bothered to play multiple tables though, too intense for what I want to achieve. Cheers Reachy
TEC's I use RKuszek's strategy, only I just play one at a time. I quit trying to play more than one game at a time. More than once I've made a huge error when I tried to click a button on one screen, only to have the other screen put itself on top at the same time. I wind up clicking the wrong button on the other screen. Not only that but I can't study my opponents properly when I continuously switch between games. Playing one game at a time, I bet 500 until there are only three of us left or I get eliminated, whichever comes first. Once it's down to three of us I start using strategy. It's easy. I can do this on my couch while watching TV with MrsMonkey. I win 2 TEC's/hr on average. I don't think it's getting any harder to win TEC's. It will eventually as the better card players start getting more skilled. But in my experience I haven't seen any increase in players with a clue.
The fickle finger of fate Funnily enough, I just logged on and discovered there were 40 minutes to the next qualifier and my TEC cupboard was bare. I launched two simultaneous games and bet 25K on the first round of both - BJ both times! I managed to get one TEC out of them. I've made it through round one of the qualifier and am currently waiting for round two to start. Of course, I know full well that the blackjack gods are just teasing me again. Still, you never know ....
The TEC point games suk!!! They are just painful, no fun , and frankly they take away from the game.... BWTF do I know....
Meaningful Measure To be honest, I'm not sure. I guess I'm winning 1/4. But since they're freerolls and the only cost is time, TEC's/hr is the more meaningful measure. I was only winning about 1/hr when I went all in on the first hand.
The reason I ask... ...is because it would possibly give a measure of how an anti-wildcatting approach (for want of a better description) works in an arena full of wildcats. If wildcatting is mainly luck-based then you'd expect wildcatters to win 1 in 7. Any win rate better than that shows a superior strategy. I suppose what I'm trying to say is that when 6 opponents are using a wild approach there is a risk that any superior skills you might have will be negated by the sheer volume of luck that they are banking on. When 6 players are relying on luck the chances are that one of them will get lucky and beat you. If you can consistantly perform above the "average" player in this scenario it demonstrates, to me at least, that skill has a large impact on potential success and that even when all about you are losing their heads, so long as you keep yours you are in with a chance ! Incidentally I just had the craziest freeroll; well semi-final table anyway. The semi's were 1 advance and everybody literally committed suicide right in-front of me. I expected it to be the hardest round and it was the easiest. All over by hand 10! Somebody even threw threw away a 40K lead. Unbelievable! In the previous round somebody asked how many rounds the tournament was and I said 19. They believed me. Cheers Reachy
