Just wondering if anyone else uses a pod coffee maker and if so what brand(s) of pods you've tried. I just got mine and had a great cup of coffee without having to waste half a pot (single, bachelor, even a small pot is too much). While my new Senseo maker came w/ it's own brand of pods, I'm wondering what other brands of pods anyone else is using?

    Coffee maker?

    Okay rather than google this.

Can you explain what a Pod Coffee maker is to the non-Americans on here and what is so special about it?

    I also have a Senseo

Hi, I have a Senseo and I have used the Senseo brand pods as well as Folgers and Maxwell House depending on which flavor I'm in the mood for.

    Andy:

I dunno what a pod coffee maker is either. And the last time I looked, except going through airport, bus and train security, I thought I was an American....North--South--Central--Estados Unidos.

The more important question, homever, would be what are Zen and Side, responding to this thread fo. Except, I'd guess, their "pods" are better than body snatchers.

    Pod?

    Noman,

A pod coffee maker is what is in your room at a less than stellar Strip Las Vegas or downtown casino/hotel that doesn't have a Starbucks next to the room tower elevator. It is a single or small multiple cup coffee maker that uses a pre-packaged fish net type (pod) envelope of ground coffee. This is not to say Starbucks coffee is better but most pod's in hotels are inferior quality coffee.

    Pod

I have found that the best use of a Pod coffee maker is wash my dirty
socks. It does an acceptable job.

A number of the downtown casinos in LV have removed them. Seems they're used to cook Meth.

    Oh yes Goat Monger:

Now I recall. I have reused those "things" over and over since I always stay in less than stellar, without accessable Starbucks, locals and yes, Rich, the brew ends up tasting like washed socks, or unwashed depending on the heat limit of the "pod."

But then again, because of the night before, I'm not sure exactly what I am doing at that particular pod at that particular time, but it seems like the right thing to do at the time. Unfortunately, sometimes that's the best part of the trip.

    Coffee and Starbucks

I can honestly say that I have never been in a Starbucks in my life.

The good thing about Starbucks is that they are usually located in busy places were several pubs will also be situated. I have always chosen the latter for my refreshment much to the consternation of my wife.

Like I say to my wife. You can get a cup of coffee in any pub and I can have a pint at the same time. When Starbucks start to sell beer I will give them a try.

    Droogie:

If Starbucks maintains their pricing structure you may not even want to give them a try for a pint. A five pound pint better have a sprig of something illegal in it.
