For those who live in Southern Calif,Arizona or Nevada(or visiting),Avi runs a cool tournament on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5pm. If you're not familiar with the area,it sits on the west side of the Colorado river about 15 miles south of Laughlin(imagine a map of the State of Nevada, its in that very bottom tip of NV...AZ on one side,CA on the other.
    Details...$10 buy in,$5 rebuys(2 re-buy sessions at 6pm and 7pm)
    20 hands per round
    $500 bankroll
    $5-$500 limit
Blackjack pays double(no insurance offered on dealer Ace)
Dbl down any first two cards
First two rounds...top 2 from each table advance
    Semi-final...only winners advance,plus highest runner up(7 players)

    Payout
    1st- $500
    2nd- $250
    3rd- $175
    4th- $125
    5th- $100
    6th- $50
    7th- $25

There were probably 70-80 entries altogether. It's a cheap tournament, but a lot of fun. It's important to note that you MUST be a member of their players club(free to join,of course),but it's an open tournament-you dont have to be rated.
The hotel and casino are nice. About 500 rooms, reasonable rates, nice pool, beach on the river, and a convenience store that sells, among other things, cheap cigs and expensive fireworks.
If you're in the area, check it out. It's not WSOB,but something us regular people can have fun with for a small price.

    maybe...

I will definitely be there this Tuesday night, the 5th. After that,I'm not sure. I live in the Phoenix area,so cant make it to every one. I'm going to try to go once a week.
