Had a great trip hanging out with Ken, Snapper and S. Yama. First let me thank Yama for the constant input and analysis he is willing to give each one of us regarding our play. It's like having a blackjack professor on your shoulder. And of course Ken shares his knowledge just as willingly. The Hilton qualifier had 120 entries this month. I didn't make it out of the first round, while Ken and Snapper fell in the second. No wild card entry for any of us either. ( Yama had previous commitments and couldn't play in this one ). I was on the tables when the Caesars to Resorts transfer occurred at midnight. Auditors from both organizations were everywhere counting each chip from table to table. The next morning, almost all traces of the "Connection Card" had been removed from the property. It appears that "double comps" may be a reality - possibly to stop any ambitious lawyer from filing a false advertising suit. It's a lot cheaper way to go and keep customers happy. The trip would not have been complete without Snapper talking me into visiting the Gambler's General Store. What a place! Everything you could ever imagine relating to gambling was there, including a lot of books and magazines. The place was filled with up-and-coming poker players buying chips and cards by the truckload! Looking forward to Tunica next month. tw
"Double Dip" is for real The Hilton "double dip" is a reality. I now wish I had let my points accumulate over the last few months instead of cashing them each trip. The points on my Hilton card as of Thursday night were indeed doubled up. I cashed them out at the Hilton, and later I cashed them out again at Caesar's. I also see my existing comp dollar balance at both places. One correction Tahoe, I didn't get out of round one this trip.
