I am curious to see if anyone on this forum has signed up or is planning to signup for this event.

Also, this is my first tournament. Does anyone recommend a site for learning tournament stategy?

    Thank you.

I expect BlackjackTournaments.com to have a strong contingent present at the Bally's event. I'll definitely be there.

The format at Bally's is a little different than most events, with two rounds of non-elimination play to decide who gets into the semifinals. That means you're competing against all players, to see who accumulates the most chips in the first two rounds. The top 35 combined scores from rounds one and two get a seat in the semifinals.

Once you get to the semifinal rounds, you'll be playing only against the other players at your table.

For strategy articles, check the links from the home page for some at my site. There are also plenty of posts in the message boards here, from the best players in the country.

Oh, yeah, welcome to the community!

My Wife & I Will Also Be Attending The Bally's Tourney...i Understand That Bally's Is Quickly Nearing A Shortage Of Rooms. (this Has Happened Before For The Sept. Event). You May Want To Register Soon To Avoid This Inconvience. Bally's # Is 1-800-38bally

    I'm there..

Signed up last Wednesday, was told that only about half the rooms were booked, but when I called around noon was told that six people in the last hour had registered. The last tournament in April was my first and I was pretty new to blackjack altogether, but soon found out what the cut off would be of the 5500-5600 range or greater and played the first round making small bets under 75 and still getting destroyed and getting a zero for the first round and then took a little bit more of an aggressive approach in the second round starting out with a 250 bet and then usually regressing to half or keeping it the same on a double down or split and continuing from there raising my bets 35-50% as I was winning and after a loss I would lower my bet about 40-50% and then start all over. The first shoe was very good to me as I was winning more than 70% of my hands, but when the shuffle came I only won 1 hand out of I think 12 and kept my bets really small as I had reached 5025 within the first shoe but that second shoe brought me down to 4680 as a new comer I thought I could maybe sneak into the semis with under 5000 was not the case as I placed 43rd overall and I believe the cut off was 5510.
