    $20,000 Blackjack Madness Tournament

I've got details on an upcoming blackjack tournament at Betcom.com
It's a March Madness theme, and it is structured just like the NCAA Basketball tournament.

It's a very interesting format. Here's the scoop:

    March 10th - March 16th

Early bird special. Buy one entry for $50 and get 1 entry free.

    March 17th-March 19th
Blackjack Madness begins. Everybody can play and the object to is be one of the top 64 scores so you can keep on playing in the tournament. Multiple entries are allowed.

    March 20th
The top 64 scores are posted

    March 21st
These 64 players then go for the top 32 scores, again multiple entries allowed

    March 22nd
All scores are posted. The top 32 progress, the bottom 32 get a $50 prop bet on the winner of the NCAA tournament. This bet must be submitted before the 24th of March. 16 teams to decide from.

    March 24th
The top 32 players compete for the top 16 scores. Multiple entries allowed

    March 25th
All 32 scores are posted. The top 16 progress, the bottom 16 get a $200 prop bet on the winner of the NCAA tournament. This bet must be placed before the 26th of March. 8 teams to decide from.

    March 27th
The top 16 scores compete for the top 8 scores. Multiple entries allowed

    March 28th
All 16 scores are posted. The top 8 advance, the bottom 8 get a $300 cash wager subject to 1 x rollover.

    April 2nd
Top 8 play to get to final 4. Multiple entries allowed

    April 3rd
All 8 scores are posted. The top 4 advance to the final on the 4th of April to play for cash prizes. The bottom 4 scores get $700 cash wager subject to 1x rollover.

    April 4th
Top 4 scores play for cash prizes. Multiple entries allowed
    1st $5000
    2nd $2500
    3rd $1500
    4th $1000

    ------------------------------------------------------------

This should be a lot of fun. The initial contest whittles down the field to 64 players, and at each subsequent level half the field is eliminated. Since reentries are allowed at each level, this should be a very interesting competition.

    Ken,

Am I correct to assume this is an accumulation vs. multi table advance/elimination tournament.

    Yes, accumulation

Yes, you are competing against all entries. The top 64 scores go into round 2. The top 32 scores in round 2 advance to round 3, etc.

It sounds like there may be a $50 entry at each level, though I'm not sure yet. Perhaps your first attempt at each level after the first is included, but you can re-enter at that level if you like. I'll pin down the exact details when I get a chance.

    Fiesta Henderson

Your right TX, $25 entry fee for Fiesta Henderson, It sells out fast so don't be late! It's single deck. I hear Silverton is not very organized, still working out kinks, but any practice is good! Good Luck Rookie!!

    interesting

what rules/format does betcom use? How many hands, decks, and the like. I'm interested in joining I just want to see how it's run.

    It's accumulation style, 50 hands

The tournament is run as an accumulation style event. Each time you enter you get to play 50 hands. If you don't like your total, you can try again for another $50 entry fee. If you enter during the early bird period, you get two entries for one entry fee the first time anyway.

(There were some issues last time with the hand counter on the screen. Splits count as two hands. I would advocate counting them yourself, and don't rely on 50 hands in any event. Try to make your total without needing the last hand or two in case there's a problem.)

For complete details, you can head to Betcom.com

Once there, click on the '$20,000 Blackjack Madness Tourney'. Then you'll find a link to the complete rules.

In case I only need one try, is the second transferable to the later rounds?

    Deposit with Betcom

I just attempted to make a credit card deposit of $50 with Betcom to enter the
March Madness tournament. After providing all credit card info & hitting Submit, the message came up to phone their 800 number for immediate confirmation. Upon doing so I was told that their credit card machine has been down for 2 days & they do not know when it will be back up. Thereupon, he suggested that I go to there InstaDeposit where one must enter all banking info so they can immediately draft ones bank account. Since I do not know much about Betcom I am hesitant to provide them with such personal info where they can draft my bank account.
So I am looking for references on Betcom, and experiences people have encontered with bank drafting with them. All info will be appreciated.
I usually use Neteller, but I am awaiting a transfer to them from another casino.

    Betcom BJ Tourney

    Hi,
This is James the Casino Manager from Betcom. Just to clarify some details regarding our upcoming BJ Tourney. If you progress to the Knockout stage (ie as one of the top 64 scores) then you DO NOT have to pay again as you get one complimentary entry. However as the objective as this stage is to be one of the top 32 scores if your score is not high enough we allow you to reenter (at a cost of $50 per re entry) to try in get one of the top 32 scores so you can advance to the next round. This is the format for all the playoff rounds. So if you are lucky enough to keep posting high scores and advance through the rounds then all it will cost you is your initial $50 entry fee. But the option is available to re enter if you desire. If anybody has any questions please contact me on 1800 213 3370. I hope this helps.

    It's on

Betcom's tournament started this morning, and round one will run until 11 PM Eastern on Saturday night. You can enter anytime until then, or perhaps an hour before it finishes. If you don't make the 64-player cutoff, you can enter again for another $50 entry fee.

    2:1 Play

I registered on March 14, paying $50, which was supposed to qualify for an early bird registration that would give a free re-buy. I can ont learn how to get the re-buy I expected & cannot get a response from Betcom. If anyone has advice it would be appreciated.

    Answer to Springbacs question

    Hi,

I think you should call the number direct and speak to the VIP services/Client Services line. I think you need to actually call them and then they will give you your second entry. I actually registered on the 18th and they made an exception and still gave me the 2-1 entry. My host Richard said to call after my first round in order to get the second entry.

BTW, how come the entries are so low?

BTW, is everyone holding back to enter the last few hours of the betcom tourney, or are these poorly attended in general?

    Wow terrible run at Betcom

Wow I entered the tourney and opened with two dealer blackjacks and then a dealer 21. Through 50 hands dealer had 9 blackjacks to my 1.....and just a continual series of 14,15, and 16...to dealer face cards.

What a terrible run....thank god I was not betting real money. Betting $25 a hand I lost 15 hands in a row with basic strategy....LOL.......after 50 hands at $25-$50 a hand....I was at zero.
