Our thoughts are with the family of "Big" Chuck Gorson, the well-known and colorful regular in the blackjack tournament world. I was informed that Chuck passed away earlier today. Rest in Peace Big Chuck.
Oh. no........ so soon after the news..... Deb and I send our thoughts, prayers, and sympathies to Big Chuck's family.
Rest in Peace Big Chuck was one of the tournament blackjack players most colorful characters. I still remember his appearance on the prime time Fox show "Casino" and how hard I laughed at the end of the show. That was the Big Chuck I knew and how he lived and partied. Chuck was always nice to me and a very funny when with a group of players. I can also said that I saw him many times offering to help new players. He probable was one of the most well known tournament players. Rest in Peace.
R.i.p. Thanks for the memories and showing us how to live life to the fullest. Your presence will be missed but your spirit will live on!
A Very Memorable Guy Would like to offer my condolences to Chuck's family. We that knew Chuck will miss his friendliness and the fact that he knew how to enjoy life to the max! Billy C

My Tribute to the late great Charles "BIG CHUCK" Gorson I have given some good thought to my tribute to the late Charles “Big Chuck” Gorson. I had the pleasure of knowing him since his son James is one of my best friends. I remember driving on the interstate with James on one Sunday afternoon when James was planning a pickup of Chuck at the airport in Fort Lauderdale as he was planning on coming into town to see his family. James promptly answered his phone and was extremely enthusiastic to speak with Chuck. He answered his phone “Chuck, how are you buddy? They had a conversation which lead them to reflect on a personal experience that they shared. The conversation on James’s end was clearly apparent that he was speaking with a good friend of his. Upon the conclusion of their call, I had to ask James who he was speaking with. Of course his response was that was my dad. I share this story with you because the point I am trying to bring out is that “Big Chuck” was everyone’s friend. He was a good friend to all, especially his children. They all appreciated and cherished the friendship he gave them over the years, and that quality or trait is going to continue to live on in years to come through his children. We all will miss “Big Chuck” but will never forget him as we will continue to see his spirit live on through the lives of the people he has touched. - Craig
