Well I was pleased ...not happy with my play. Finished out of the money but did make it to the final 36 in the semi's. One tournament supervisor said there were over 300 entries and rebuys. So I guess that I did good to get that far. This was my first "big" tournament entry. I have played and won several small ones. The intimidation factor was not nearly as great as I had expected. I did notice one familiar face and it took me a minute to figure out who he was. It was the guy that was the pro gambler on the first episode of "The Casino" on FOX.I believe his name was Chuck something. So as I was sitting down to my semi-final table I noticed that he did not take a seat anywhere so if he did enter I guess he did not make the cut.
No one on my table was getting killer hands but I was steadily losing and by hand 15 I was BR 4 of 4 @ $1300 ..2 others were busted out already. BR1 was around 5000 with BR 2 at $55 less. I bet 300 on next hand and busted with 22 but was too slow with my "catch 22 card" .This flustered me a bit but I did not fuss because it was my fault for not being prepared. I decided to play catch up instead of going with my better intincts to let BR1 and BR2 knock each other off and pray that BR 3 did not catch any cards ..she was short stacked like me.I bet $1000 on hand hand 17 and busted out of the game.I forget the play on hand 18 ..guess I was kicking my own tail during that one. Hand 19 had the dealer flip a 21 to clear the bets and take BR 3 out of the game. On hand 20 BR 1 had around 3400 and BR2 had around 3000. BR2 was first to act and bet the max 2500 and BR1 matched him. BR 2 drew a soft 17 and decided to stay against the dealer 7 upcard BR1 drew a 12 and after much deliberation hit and busted the hand ...he had used the catch 22 card earlier in round. Well, BR2's friends were all whooping it up but there was still a live hand on the table and when she the dealer revealed a 2 down card and drew out to 19 BR 2 was most disheartened. BR 1 won it with 900 . In hindsight I wished I had been a bit more conservative it the late rounds.Maybe I could have been a contender.
Hopefully I will have better luck this Wednesday in the finals at the Golden Moon . I would love to get my self in the same position of my first 2 rounds at Biloxi with the chip lead and everyone else having to play catch up.
JACKBLACK sorry we did not meet at Biloxi ...or maybe we did. I talked to several people but no one from B'Ham. Hopefully we can split the pot Wednesday. Look me up I am hard to miss ..big guy with gray hair and beard.

    I was there

I busted out early in my first round, but liked it well enough that I paid for a rebuy. My second round went better, but I nearly blew ot midway through, made a comeback and finished first on my table. It turns out that two players advance from the rebuy rounds, but I didn't know it at the time and played way more aggressively than necessary! In the quarter finals, three advance out of six, and the three losers get entered in the wild card drawing. Easy, I thought, but missed it by a mile. Splendid bets, but sour cards.

I had a great time though and was pleased with the tournament- I'll be back!

I was there also for my first tournament. Didn't do well but learned a lot. In the first round at the 15 hand count I was in the lead by a few hundred. The next 5 hands were not kind to me, as I ended up third. In the rebuy round only three of us left...2 goes to next round.....last hand....I get a twelve, the other two had twenty, dealer showed a face card. I hit, I came in third. But, later Sunday night I was at Imperial Palace, played a 10 dollar slot machine, hit for $27000. Got a polaroid photo...and they took a digital photo, which may show up on there website later.

    Thanks for the good information,
