    Nostalgia

I knew this was coming, but the first time I walk down Fremont St and do not see the "Horseshoe" sign, it will certainly send a shiver down my spine.

In a city where change is constant, the Horseshoe has been one of the few things that has remained the same in the years I've been going to Vegas. You're right, it'll be odd to see these changes take place.

Oh well, at least Harrah's is outta there.

    A Fright

I can well understand how this could send a "shiver down one's spine". Actually, the place has been a fright ever since Becky Binion took over management of the joint (read mismanagement).

That was exaberated by Harrrah's which grabbed the name for Poker tourneys, sold the casino, and continued the downward spiral of management.

It use to be one of my favorite casinos. Now when I walk down Fremont St, I make like it doesn't exist. :flame:

    Will the games get better?

And I hope the 6:5 SD Blackjack is outta there also, I guess we will have to wait and see.

    My Horseshoe memories

The first time I ever went to Vegas was in the early 70's. I took my girl friend, who now happens to be my wife, and did all the tourist thinks. I just happened to be looking at our old photos and there we were - the traditional photo with the Horseshoe million dollars! I can't believe my hair was so long - I guess left over from the 60's. No, I'm not selling it on eBay. :)

Me and my wife visited the Horseshoe our first trip out back in the late 80's and has memories for me also. Lost my butt, lol. Younger, and a little cocky, thought I could make a fortune but learned a valuable lesson. Will miss the Horseshoe part of it.

    Just Not True

That's just not true I played there Sunday night and they are paying 3to2 on all blackjacks on single deck games.I believe they still have one or two tables by the door to Fremont Street that are 6/5 payouts. It was a good feeling playing real single deck blackjack ;) .Just pay attention as to what game you are playing.

    Hopefully here to stay!

    Joe,

I think this is kinda what the link above said??? Had some 6/5 by the street and good old 3/2 further back! Hopefully it is all changing back to 3/2 payouts.

In any event I'm glad to hear that it is back! I've got a trip planned in the near future!
