Sands of the Caribbean is hosting a blackjack tournament between now and Wednesday (March 29th, 2006). The prize pool is 100% payout, with a minimum prize pool guarantee of $1000. Entry is $20, and you'll get $500 in chips. You have one hour of time to play, and you can play as many or as few hands as you like. The leaderboard is updated realtime. 1st place gets 60% of the prize pool. 2nd place gets 25% of the prize pool. 3rd place gets 15% of the prize pool. If you don't already have an account, start at the Sands of the Caribbean website, download and install the software and register an account. They are also offering a special for all tournament participants. If you lose any money at the live blackjack tables during the tournament timeframe, you'll get a 10% rebate on Thursday. (Note that the tournament is NOT a live money event, but the rebate applies to live money table play.)
Sands of the Caribbean Kenny, How are they with the monthly bonus now? I stopped going there almost two years ago after the monthly bonus incident.
I don't recall the particular situation, but I remember there being some player issues when they switched their old bonus scheme. They now offer a $100 monthly bonus, which is credited to a player's account after the player has wagered $6000 in a month. Single deck blackjack is excluded, and other forms of blackjack only count as $0.50 per $1 wagered. That means if you play just regular blackjack, you'll get the bonus after $12K in wagers. They do have a clause that says the bonus won't be credited to accounts that have shown a past pattern of wagering just the minimum, or never risking real player funds.
Well, dang. I thought I had a chance for a while. By the way, the earlier prize distribution was inaccurate. The split is 70% / 20% / 10%. You start with $500, and the max bet is only $100. After 2 hands, my bankroll was down to $200, but from there I went on one heck of a winning streak. I got up to $2500, and figured I had a good chance of catching the leader who was at $3175. But, just as quickly as I had run up a big score, I ran it back down to zero. Oh well.
Thank you Ken! I just want to say a special public THANK YOU to Ken for keeping us advised of potential on-line tournament opportunities. This was one I would have missed. After a long day (4 lead changes during the day yesterday), I took home the top prize for a little over 2K. Ken, I've told you many times how grateful I am for your influence over my tourney career but if it wasn't for you and this site I never would have even started playing tournaments! THANK YOU. It has been more fun and more challenging than I could have ever imagined and I have met several great people in the process. THANK YOU. GF
