Hey Bear, I think you may have got your wires crossed. The pot was actually $2500. There were 26 of us in the end, so that would normally have been $2340. Perhaps the point was that $2500 would have represented around an additional $1000 if only the qualifiers had played, with no additional players buying their seats? Also, there was a little confusion about the number winning through to the grand final. The message when it was all over said it was all six, but I think the message at the start said it was the top two only (like in the qualifiers). I asked at the table, and that was what the other players thought too. I came third, so hopefully the second message was the correct one!

Thanks It wasn't quite the relentless trail of success you describe; I failed to get anywhere in a number of playoffs, before finally getting lucky. It certainly worked out well in the end, though. Could you clarify a couple of points? - If someone wins a second seat (either a second for the same Championship, or a second for the grand final itself), do they get the $99/$250 monetary value instead? Does 'play for $10,000' refer to the total prize pool, or to first place? (I'm guessing it's the former, but you never know. )
