bet it all -- or everything minus a single chip if winning the bet will beat a push by the first place player. then you'll have to win while he loses, something that only happens 12% of the time. an ugly situation any way you look @ it -- that's why its so important to have position AND the big bankroll come the final hand.

for excellent final hand strategy, there's no better book on the market than Stanford Wong's "Casino Tournament Strategy" -- a must-read for any serious tournament player.

I agree with hollywood if your objective is only to win first but remember coming in 2nd is only bad if you're in a fist fight
