I seem to have lots of trouble keeping my Caesars connection comp balance at reasonably low levels. My current balance is back over $3k. I was pleasantly surprised last year to find that I could use Caesars connection comps to pay the entry fee to the LVH million dollar bj tournament. Does anyone know whether this applies to this year's tournament given the impending sale of LVH, and if so, how long this option might be available? Are there decent tournaments at other Caesar's properties where one can use connection comps to pay entry fees? Has anybody run across any decent shopping uses for Caesars connection comps? I'm hoping for something other than standard overpriced casino gift shops selling mostly logoed items. So far the best shopping opportunities I've found are in AC. Bally's Park Place has a jewelry store and clothing boutique, while AC Hilton also has a clothing boutique. Caesars AC has some plausible uses for comp points, but mostly they force you to use $2 of comps for $1 of stuff.
I have to assume that you may have trouble entering the LVH tournament with these after the switchover. If you're certain about a future date you'll be able to attend, I'd enter now, even if it's several months away. On the other hand, I'm wondering how the Hilton is going to handle the comp dollars. I'm hoping we'll all get doubled up, with comp dollars both on our Caesar's account and at the Hilton's new system. That would be a nice surprise. Even with that possibility, I'd still probably be anxious to cash in $1000 for a tournament entry ASAP if I were in your situation. I'm no help on using the retail value. I tend to spend my comp dollars here in Mississippi at LB's Steakhouse at the Grand properties. If you're well-comped, that's probably already taken care of.
