    Anyone do this one?

The listing has five preliminary sessions starting at 10am. Does this mean 10, 11, 12, 1, 2pm? Do they sell this one out or any there alot of reentries.

    Go early

The Cannery is a pretty cool little casino in N. Vegas. I played the mini once last year and it was pretty open, but I heard it has picked up.

I would go early to sign up or at least call to find out how busy they are.

Great for getting experience at the table on the cheap.

I’ve done this one 3 times this year, most recently the last week in August. I played the first session every time and never had 6 players at the table. The Round I sessions are every 45 minutes. The semi-final is scheduled for 2:00pm with the final at 3:00pm. If there are 100 or fewer entries, 1st prize is 49% of the prize pool.

The last time I was there, I got into a minor flap with the tournament official over the procedure for the final-table wild cards. As I described in the Event Calendar the wild cards are drawn from the 4 players finishing BR2 in the semi-final; however, the written rules (#22) state the 2 wild card entries are drawn from all other semi-finalists. When I pointed this out, the response was, “That’s not right. We’ve always done it this way.”

I had never gotten past the first round on my previous two tries so I never stuck around for the final wild card drawing and was not aware that only the second place finishers were eligible. Which is actually not a bad deal. With only 4 semi-final tables in play, as BR2 you have a 50-50 chance of being drawn into the final table.

It would be nice to have the written rules agree with actual practice though.

    Thanks

    Txtour and Jackaroo,

Thanks for the info. Every 45 minutes should help out. The Cannery website states that they are five minutes from downtown and ten minutes from the strip. They are pretty far north for this claim!

So I-15 to Craig from downtown (MSS). Go West. It looks like I should look for a fake smokestack then.

    Easy

Yes, north on I-15 to Craig turn left and it will be on your left just a little ways up. Very nice little casino.
