Went to the sister site (www.blackjackinfo.com) to ask the counting gurus whether counting software would give an edge in online tourneys. So far they say no!! Link to thread - http://www.blackjackinfo.com/bb/showthread.php?p=12420#post12420 Cheers Reachy
Reach In Ken's teaser what do you think the best play would be for 11 if the deck was loaded with 9s and 10s and empty of Aces while the 16 was facing very few 4s and 5s? Now there is a math problem for the stat guys! LOL
I was thinking of you... ...when I posted the question. I have zero idea about card counting which is one of the reasons why I like tournament BJ! Maybe you should post the question in the strategy section, it would be interesting. You could ask at what point does the count make have an impact on the playing decision if at all. If you don't ask I probably will Cheers Reachy ps. you've got to admit, it's kind of reassuring though isn't it?
During free games I have found the count to help me at blackjack21.com. Also, I have seen many people get spanked by bad bets against counts high or low. Its all about improving the basic strategy. This is just high low counting, not accounting for all the cards like a computer could. If you had a program running that said, at the end of the game, you had only half the normal probability doubling 17 would not bust it would help. JMO. Variance in the cards would change the math aralik and Ken did. I think a big problem many have with counting is it detracts from your batting concentration and chip counting focus in live games and online aka multi tasking. But, with practice you can count a table in a couple seconds. So, why not? Why not improve you basic strategy? I know this is one of the oldest arguments, so I know how most feel about it and they are the seasoned ones so.... Each to their own. Barney
