Hi, all. I am new to this site, new to Blackjack, etc. I am trying to find out how I can obtain a particular casino's BJ rules before I actually go play with real money and with real people. I live in metro Atlanta, and am four hours from the nearest casinos (Pearl River, MS area -- Silverstar Casino and Golden Moon Casino) . I have tried researching this question on the web, but I can't find the rules info if it is out there. If anybody has any tips, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

You can subscribe to the newsletter on the BJ21 site. The newsletter gives information on all casinos in the U.S., including games, rules, etc.

Moses is right about the most reliable source for this information. Wong's Current Blackjack News is updated every month, with most casino areas being visited for fresh reports.

If you're looking for a free but less reliable guide, try this one:

    Blackjack Rules

    Hi!Todd

I am listing a few rules I have learnt through my regular Blackjack play.

The objective of Blackjack is --> You just have to beat the dealers hand. You win with a small hand if the the dealer busts.

    Card Values In Balckjack :

Suits of the cards have no meaning in the game.

Cards 2 through 10 are the face value.

Jacks, Queens and Kings are all valued at 10.

Aces can count as either 1 or 11.

i.e, If the total of the player’s cards exceeds 21, he “busts” and loses his wager. If his cards total the same number as the dealer (from 17 to 21), no one wins and the player receives his wager back. This is considered a “push.” Keep in mind that “Blackjack” beats a score of 21 consisting of 3 or more cards. Blackjack is achieved when your first two cards total 21.For online blackjack the simpler the blackjack strategy you adopt the better. :)

Good luck with your blackjack game ! :)

    Rules vary

Remember to check, rules vary from casino to casino.

Here are just a few things to check on:

    Number of players per table.
    How many advance per table.
    How many rounds.
    How many hands per round.
Is the prize money based on the number of players or guaranteed.
    Betting limits.
    Is surrender offered.
    Is the deal rotated.
    Format: accumulative or elimination.
    Are re-buys avalible.
    Do they offer even money.
    Do they offer insurance.
What does Blackjack pay (3-2 of 2-1).

These are the rules you want to know before play starts.

Since you are new to tournament play also remember:

No talking to spectators or vice versa.
Don't drop chips in the betting area, stack chips behind and push them in.
Rack all your chips off after each winning hand and re-bet.
Keep your chips in plain sight at all times, dont try to hide chips.
Keep your chips in stacks seperated by value.
Go to the restroom before play starts, no breaks during the rounds.
Be at your table a little early.
Watch the table, the dealer could make a mistake, it is okay to point out an error in over payment in tournament play, (so what if the player gets mad they would do it to you if they caught it).
Don't let players do any of the above.

This is not a rule, but should you win any money it is always good to tip the dealers. I usally tip $5 per round I advance (if the dealer is pleasant). Anything after that is up to you, in a mini between 5-10% is a fair tip.

Hope this helps. Good Luck, let us know how you do.
