Today's featured destination for Southwest's Ding fares is Seattle.
For example, I'm looking at a Jackson to Seattle fare of $94 each way. If you're considering the Iron Horse Auburn TBJPA events Sept 27-30, you might want to check these out. You must book today, before 8 pm Central, through the downloadable "Ding" software at http://www.southwest.com

While searching, I see other similar fares from other airlines, so check around. Using Rick's American Airlines provided discount code yields similar fares for me, but I ended up booking New Orleans to Seattle round trip for $230 total.

    Featured Destination

I don't think Ding's featured destination is identical nation wide, my featured destination today is Newport Beach, CA. My special to Seattle was on 7/26 the fares I booked then were $88 cheaper round trip than Southwest is quoting today, $178 vs. $266. I was also able to book this month seven round trip flights to Las Vegas for $92 between now and December 2007, the normal fare is $212.

    Southwest

I was able to book round trip from Baltimore to Seattle for $184.
This is cheaper than Las Vegas ever is.

    Southwest "Ding"

You can set the locations you want to check with the "Ding" Live up-dates.

I check about 8 locations on mine. The Seattle flights were very simular to America (with the discount) as Ken posted, maybe a little cheaper.

This is just one of the reasons why I try to get dates and locations of the TBJPA events as soon as possible, with these SW "Ding" fares, you can save alot of money on travel.

Hope to see everyone in Laughlin next month and Seattle in September. I am hoping to comfirm locations for October & November soon.

    Southwest Ding

As Rick, and I, am aware, Southwest flights from the DFW area have to stop somewhere, unless it is in one of the adjacent states. This is inconvient and increases travel time (the Wright admendment will go away eventually). It adds 1 hour fifteen minutes to the Dallas to Seattle trip at best. Most of the flight are more than that.

If you are not aware, there are 2 search engines Kayak http://www.kayak.com/ and ITA Software http://www.itasoftware.com/ which search airline web sites and things like Orbitz and Travelocity to find airfares. Neither of these sites sell tickets, they just do the searching for you. My experience is they both seem to find the same fares in general. Just searching for this Seattle tournament right now shows multiple non-stop flights from DFW to SEA for $238.30 (final price after all the taxes and stuff) going on a Wednesday and returning on a Monday. I didn't put in Rick's AA discount code, so it might be less.

I didn't make my Laughlin airfare trip until last week, but even at this late date, both programs genrated multiple non-stop round trips from Dallas for $218.30. Much cheaper and faster than Southwest from Dallas.

If you have never used one of these search engines, give them a shot.
