I have never played in a Blackjack Tournament, there is one April 27-29 2007 that I'm thinking of trying at Chinook Winds Casino - Lincoln City, Oregon This site lists it as - Entry Fee: $200.00 USD, Bankroll: $2,000.00 each round. (Non-Negotiable chips), Accumulation format Has anyone played there that can tell me the basics of how they run it. Does "Accumulation format" mean when one round is over you take the amount you won / lost to the next round or do you start back at $2000 for the next round? How many people at each table go to the next round, 1st place only or maybe the top 3 ? Can you be out of the Tournament on the first day or do you get to play both days (do I need to reserve a room) ? Any help or advise you can give me would be appreciated. thanks in advance Bryan
Most of your questions will be answered when you get the rules when you get to the casino to register to play. I'll try to answer your questions (answers are in red) as best I can from the limited information you provided: Let us know how you did and welcome aboard. You can get a wealth of information from reviewing the prior posts made on this board.
Call them 1-888-chinook, ask them to fax the data sheet to you. Maybe I'll see you there.....there are only 85 players signed up so the prizes will be smaller than advertised. Kaminari
Kaminari, Last Friday I stopped at the signup desk and tried to ask some basic questions about the Blackjack Tournament and the employee didn't know anything about it. Just was taking the money to get a spot. I did go to their website and downloaded the PDF file of the flyer for the tournament which gave times and etc. but didn’t give any detailed info. I’ll try your suggestion and ask them to fax or email me the details. Bryan
The Flyer is at the Events Desk The details are there on paper, right next to the desk. I have them. Send me your fax number by private mail and I'll send it to you. Their employees are a bit....under motivated. Kaminari
This is not uncommon in the vast majority of casinos. I have basically given up on trying to got advance information on tournament rules. I found it just too frustrating to try.
kam: had the same problem with getting facts from them. talked to a lady named dawn at one time. she told me to go to the web page to find info. then she would not return my emails, about asking other questions pertaining to the team partnership format, etc. been to that casino a few times, not impressed with their customer service. nice view, sits on the beach.
