I'm not one to fire up negative posts very often, but this time I'm deeply pissed off. "Furious" is probably a more accurate term. For some reason that nobody is talking about, folks in a handful of specific U.S. States are not allowed to join the party at clubUBT.com. Including my own! All of that promotion and carrying on about how this was going to be such a great site for online EBJ players, with all the benefits, and not one word about some of us being locked out. This means that at least two of their past online champions are now forbidden to play the cash & prizes games. We can slug it out in the trenches for any Win-A-TV-Seat games, but that's it. Most of you know that I've very rarely been critical of the UBT, other than their largest and most glaring problem - Communication! If, as I suspect, there's some State Law problems, that should have been exposed a long time ago. The players from the forbidden states were not told until they downloaded the game, and THEN get a message about being unable to participate. No explanation of why, just a quick note about having an ineligible address - and that's it. I'd even got a number of emails from clubUBT yammering about starting dates and prizes and other blah blah - but nothing about how my choice of residence was going to screw me out of any chance to play. It takes a lot to set me off, but this episode did an absolutely stellar job of it. :flame: :flame: :flame:
Welcome to the "Club" :joker: It really isn't their fault on this one - unfortunately your state's political representative are the one to blame and that just sucks. I hope you would take the time to write your representatives to let them know how this is unfair and that they should support Barney Frank's bill to undo the UIGEA.
I understand that it's not their fault that residents of my state couldn't play. However, it is 100% their fault that they kept it a secret until folks tried to sign up.
Now Now let's not be too hasty. Look at the bright side - you can still play in the FREE games and qualify for the Barona TOC event. You and Deb have done it before right? As to them being mum on who is eligble and who isn't - well it's all about communication isn't it? I only wish the people/minds behind this project were as concerned about follow up as they were with initial announcements. Once again - sorry you can't join "The Club"
Problem Well, that is the exact problem I had yesterday evening when the software updated itself. I signed on and I was unable to play for free as you did when the software was ubt. What gives? Is anyone else having this problem? I sign in, and the promo automatically comes up asking you if you want to join the club. However, I press no at this time and try to play in a table. I tried to push the red button in the upper right-hand side and I just can not get into a table. I'm furious about this. Can you help me with this one? :flame: :flame: :flame:
Here a list... I found this list over at LVA, posted by Leftnut. I just copied and pasted it here, hope all is correct. Residents of the following states and countries are eligible to become paying members of ClubUBT: Alaska Arizona California Colorado Connecticut D.C. Delaware Florida Hawaii Illinois Iowa Kansas Kentucky Louisiana Maine Massachusetts Mississippi Montana North Carolina North Dakota New Hampshire Nebraska Nevada New Jersey New Mexico New York Oklahoma Ohio Oregon Pennsylvania Rhode Island Tennessee Texas Utah Vermont Virginia West Virginia Wisconsin Wyoming Canada U.K. France Italy Residents of the following states are not allowed to become paying members of ClubUBT, but are allowed to play for free: Alabama Arkansas Georgia Idaho Indiana Maryland Michigan Minnesota Missouri South Carolina South Dakota Washington
That list came directly from clubUBT.com. I think you need to click on Customer Support from the game's main window, then "FAQ'S" or something like that. I can't check it because I un-installed eveything UBT from my computer late this morning. If they can't give me a good detailed explanation as to why my state (and others) aren't allowed, then the heck with 'em.
He's outta there Well, I guess that I'm out of the UBT scene now. With no response from them regarding specifics as to why I cannot play, and a stash of 20,000 apparently worthless play chips, I went into the "casino-style" BJ game and donked them all off. Then I uninstalled UBT from my computer. It's been a fun (and profitable) 8 months, but I guess the ride's over for me. What a shame, I truly enjoyed the game, too. Those of you who are allowed to play, I wish you the very best of skill, cards, and luck.
Club UBT My wife is signed up...we live in Nevada...no problem signing up...the problem that I saw when she played is this.... you pay $19.95 to play with the plunkers for $10.00 1st prize per tournament...accumulate enough prize points and play for a grand prize of $500.00...these are 100 maximum players tourneys...I guess when all the dust settles..the $25,000 plunkers will tire of paying to go"all in"...we'll see. mikey754
