Comet Holmes surprised the astronomy community recently, when it flared up to 1000 times brighter than before. It's not visible to the bare eye, even in areas with a fair amount of light pollution. It basically looks like a green fuzzy spot, but hey, how often do you get to see a comet at all? For instructions on how to find it, check this link at SkyAndTelescope: http://www.skyandtelescope.com/observing/home/10862521.html It's a worthy target for binoculars if you have a pair.
