I know alot of you really don't like to pay commission at Indian casinos. Do the casinos in your area have no commission hours ? My two local casinos do. One from 12pm-2pm and 12am-2am. The other 8am-4pm Monday-Thursday. We can get our hours needed for tournaments without any commission.

    Ante's

As far as I know, neither Winstar nor Choctaw (Durant) ever stop their ante's. I only go to Winstar for the BJT when they have one. Choctaw has one ongoing all the time, so I go up on Thursdays.

    So where are your casinos?

I'm here in Lawton, OK. The casino pulls the commission out of the chip tray for each person playing. It doesn't cost the casino nothing since they pay for this out of the players pool.

    Winstar/Choctaw Resort vrs Shreveport-Bossier City

You made me start thinking about the cost of the commission/antes on Table game play.

The DFW area is the source of most of the players for the two casino on the OK/TX border and the Shreveport-Bossier City casinos. All you have to do is walk in the parking lots to see all the Texas plates.

To get to Shreveport is about a 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hour drive from DFW. Winstar/Choctaw Resort is about 3/4 to 1 3/4 hour drive from DFW.

So if somebody in DFW has this wild hankering to play BJ for a couple of hours, they can go to Oklahoma and probably play about 70 hands at a cost of $35 in Antes. Or they can drive an additional 4 hours total to not pay commissions.

Shreveport-Bossier City does have Dice, if that is your vice.

They all have slots. They all have poker. I do not know how the casinos compare on this, since I do not do either.

They all have video poker. At the moment the two OK casinos are much better than the Horseshoe (the only one I ever go to) in Bossier City. The OK casinos have progressive royal machines with at least 9/6 JOB.

I can see why the Winstar/Choctaw casinos are contiuing to expand while the Shreveport-Bossier City seems to be stuck.
