For the second year in a roll Vince Costa has won the Canadain Masters Blackjack tournament at Niagria Falls View casino in Ont. Canada.

Vince made a big comeback over the last few hands to capture his second title in as many years in Canada. I wrote down the final five hands and will send them to Ken when I get back home.

My luck wasn't anywhere as good as Vince as I lost out in the first round. My last two hands I was all in on a double down 11 and hit 10 only to have the dealer hit 21 and on the last hand I went all in on 10 and doubled down catching a 10 only to watch the dealer (with 7 on top) flip a 7 and draw a third 7 for back to back 21's, OUCH!!!!!!!

    Way to go Vince, again!

So Vince Costa cleaned up again and won the $100,000 CDN ($80,000 US) Annual Masters BJ tournament at Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort. Two years in a row!
    Big Wow!
Vince is a true BJ Tournament road warrior who quietly lets his BJ tournament wins ( probably around 6) speak for themselves.
Stuff that Hollywood can only dream about.
    Congratulations Vince!

    Great reading! My two cents.

Thanks to Kenneth for posting the play by play and thanks to TX for providing it.
Van Tram litterally snatched "defeat from the jaws of victory" by blowing a big lead through weird betting plays and road warrior Vince Costa was "the fox amongst the pigeons", moving from last on hand 17 to first place on hand 21!
As usual, the play by play reports provide great practical insight as to what can happen in tournament play.

    Thanks to all....

Thanks to all! I should have lost first to the person in seat six who had the bank (8700) and the cards (TT) to take a shot at me. He split once, caught a 6, and stood on two tens for some reason. My gift. :)

Ken you have created a perfect web site!

    No worries, Vince

Even if Tram will resplit his hand, he would have (T,6), (T,8), (T,9) - see Play by Play. The Dealer would have Soft 17 (no extra card will be taken) and Tram would lose one and win two hands which is only one bet win instead of necessary three bets.
Of course he should have done it, but nothing would be changed. No gifts has been given. Congratulation again.

    Congratulations

I witnessed the last 5 hands at Fallsview and found it very exciting. Truly it was an outstanding achievement (to paraphrase Ken).

I think Vince won the tournament on hand 18 when seat 7 (BR1 at this point) hit his 15 three times. As the recap shows, Vince bet $2,500 on that hand and ultimately won the hand :D , while seat 7 had $200 in the circle. If BR1 stands, the dealer makes her hand and Vince loses with his 12.

Vince, Congratulations on a very  win.
