Congratulations JoeP for a first place finish at Imperial Palace Biloxi this weekend. His win was at least $70,000, and might be higher. (I forgot to confirm the total with him.) Kudos are due the staff at IP Biloxi, who really did a great job running this event. I'm definitely looking forward to future events there. My wife and I both made the semifinals, along with casino_jim, Richard Rockwell, and of course JoeP. Among those names, only Joe made the final. On the next to last hand, Joe had a big enough bet working to become BR1, but his 20 was beaten by a dealer 21! Then, on the button as BR3, he got another 20 against a dealer Ace. After an insurance ploy that didn't pay dividends, he stood with the 20 and a dealer 19 gave him first place. Nice job, and what a nice payday.
I don,t know Joe personally, but I watched from behind the spectator ropes as he took down the finalist for a 1st place award. He also had a vocal rooting section comprised of members of this cite. Congratulations Great tournament
WTG Joe! The cream rises to the top. A road warrior adds another notch to his belt. Congratulations, Joe.
Congratulations Joep, Another vote registered in the skill vs. luck factor but maybe as a "Professional Tournament" golfer once stated "the more I practice the luckier I get".
WTG Joep I always like to see the "lucky cards find the skilled player." Whose quote was that again...??
Attaboy, Joe! :celebrate One of my own favorite quotes for such a happy occasion comes from a source that I can't recall at the moment. Luck happens when preparation meets opportunity. Certainly is appropriate here - Congratulations!!!
Well, well, well, Mr. Pane comes thru in the clutch, pulls out the victory AND gets another article for All In Magazine - all from the same tournament! Now wonder he was all smiles this past weekend. In fact he had that cool look of winner BEFORE Sunday! Nice Job Joe! Congratulations - now maybe you'll have enough points to catch up with all your students in the All In Rankings!
Response from JoeP Here's a reply from JoeP, which he posted over at LVA: ---------------------- Thank you all for you kind words to and about me, in regards to my win this weekend at the Imperial Palace in Biloxi. I have made many friends at BJT over the years and its nice to know that these friendships continue, even though I no longer post there. It made me smile to see your post about my win. I wish you all the best in your tournament travels. Hope to see you at a Final Table. Joep -----------------------
Hey Joep Congratulations on your win. Thank you for your good luck message to me on the LVA site regarding the TBJPA Seattle events. It is always nice that the big players can make an effort to encourage the novices on here to have a go at the tournament games. I may have not have won as much as you, but I had a great time in America playing in Rick’s tournaments. Andy
