“Blackjack Cruise Tournament Rules” 1. Players must be 18 years of age in play in the tournaments. 2. The Tournaments may be revised at the option of Texas tournaments. 3. Dealer will hit on all hands of 16 or less and stand on all 17‘s. 4. Player blackjacks pay 3:2. 5. Players can split any two card hand which contains cards of equal value up to three times up to a total of 4 hands, (with the exception of aces). 6. Splitting aces get only one card on each ace. Resplitting aces is not allowed. 7. The player may double down on any two cards, for any amount from the table minimum up to and including the amount of their original wager. This includes two cards immediate after splitting, with the exception of split aces which are governed by the one card per ace rules above. 8. Late surrender is allowed for 1/2 of the players original wager only. Surrender is not allowed after splitting. 9. Insurance is allowed when the dealer shows an ace as the up card and may be taken for any amount up to half your original wager for the hand. Winning insurance wagers will pay 2:1. The insurance wager must be physically made. Even money will not be allowed. 10. Every player must give a hand signal to hit, or stand. Surrender, doubling down, and splitting must be made verbally. 11. Each tournament round will consist of 20 hands. Exceptions are: A) The round can end sooner if only the number of players to advance remain to play on the table. B) The round will be extended if there is a tie between two or more players for advancement to the next round. The betting order will continue in the order of the last hand. In such an event 1 extra hand will be played times the number of players involved in the tie. Should there be no winner, one hand at a time will be played until a winner (or winners) is determined. 12. The number of players at each table may vary due to the number of entrants, but 6 is the preferred amount per table. Texas Tournaments will try and see that there is an equal number at each table of any given round. 13. All the players (that have not been eliminated) will receive $500 in tournament chips at the beginning of each round. All players will be given an option for and additional $100 in tournament chips for $5 extra before the start of each table and each round. The $5 will be for the dealers to cover expenses. 14. Betting limits in all rounds will be from $10 to $200 in increments of $10. If a $5 increment is made, it will be returned to the player. Only exceptions will be for insurance and on double downs, where $5 bets will be allowed. 15. All players chips must be kept on the table, stacked and separated by denomination and in clear view of all other players at all times. 16. Play will be stopped after the 15th hand for a count and also before the 20th hand. The Tournament Director will do the counts and will be written down for all the players to see. 17. If the player has two cards of equal value and would like to split, it is the player's responsibility to insure that they have enough chips remaining to do so. Any split that the player does not have enough chips to make will not be allowed. 18. Once a bet is placed in the betting circle and the dealer passes to the next player, the bet can not be changed. 19. No outside assistance is allowed, no written or mechanical aids will be allowed. All decisions on how to play the hand must be that of the player. 20. The game will be dealt from a six deck shoe with approximately one deck of cards cut out of play. Cards will be dealt face up, except for double downs on non-bustable hands. 21. A rotating marker will be used to determine the betting and dealing order. Its initial table placement will be determined though a random draw and this marker will rotate one position after each hand. Betting will start with the button and proceed in a clockwise rotation. Players must bet in order. 22. The players must play every hand after the start of the session unless they are eliminated by not having the minimum bet. 23. Each player will have 30 seconds to make their bet and the same amount of time to play his or her hand. If the Tournament Director feels a players is taking to long he will tell them they have 10 seconds left. If a betting decision is not made within the time allotted for that particular hand, the player is forced to bet the table minimum. If a hand playing decision is not made within the time allotted for that particular hand, the hand will stand pat. For the final five hands in each round the time will be increased to 45 seconds. 24. If a player indicates that he or she wants a hit, double down or split, but the dealer passes by the requested action on the hand and the next player has already acted on his or her hand, the card or cards that were dealt to the next player out of turn will be considered dead cards and removed from play. The action will return to the missed player. No cards in these instances will be backed up under any circumstances. 25. If there is a misdeal on the first card given to each player or the dealer at the start of any hand the misdealt cards will be backed up and dealt to the hands that they are intended for. If misdealt cards are dealt to any player or the dealer as the second card of any hand, the cards will be considered dead cards and removed from play. 26. Players arriving late or missing their assigned session during the tournament play will be penalized a $100 chip deduction for each hand missed. After 5 hands the player forfeits the round. The player must be in their seat before their first card of each hand is dealt, or the penalty or elimination will be forced. 27. Once play has begun a player may not leave the table. Any players doing so will be disqualified. 28. Any decision or arbitration regarding any playing rule or conflict shall be made by the Tournament Director or designee and the decision shall remain final. 29. Players not adhering to the rules can be disqualified at the discretion of the Tournament Director. 30. Texas Tournaments reserves the right to refuse entry to any potential player. 31. The Tournament Director has final decision on what will be allowed and what procedures and penalties will be enforced, if necessary. 32. Rick Jensen will be the Tournament Director for all tournaments.
Rule changes # 14 the increments will be in $5. Minimum bet is $5 up to $200. # 25 Cards will be backed up for the original first to cards. (this is the correct order they should have come out). An cards mis-dealt for the third card and above dealt to the wrong player (if they ask for a card) will be burned and the play will resume at the correct player position. All rules will be covered at the registration and cocktail party Monday night in Conference Room "B" at 9:00 PM to 10:00.
