This may sound like a dumb question and may vary between casinos but what is the method in which dealers burn, deal, shuffle and restack card shoe? Do they burn one card or a few? do they throw used cards in discard tray for shuffling or straight into shuffler? how do they restack the shoe or do the pit bosses handle this, i am newbie so bear with me. Commonly, one card is burned, but some places cut many off the top. Discards are picked up after the hand is settled and stacked in a discard tray. When a Continuous Shuffle Machine is used, the procedure may vary. The dealer handles the shuffling of the deck, and the particular procedure varies by casino, but the process is supposed to randomly redistribute the cards. Not dumb question's There is no such thing as a dumb question, only dumb people who think they know something and don't ask. 1) House rules, your right each casino may vary how they do everything 2) Yes, burning cards do vary. Some burn one card per dack used. A few will flip the first card and burn the value of that card (only 2 - 9 are ued this way, Aces and 10 value cards are not used). These are the most popular ways I have seen. 3) They put them in the discard holder first, then back into the shuffking machine (normally). 4) Normally the dealer restacks the shoe, in most cases they call to the floor person before they start running them.
