Did you ever want to ask Stanford Wong a question?

    Now is your chance.
Next up on the interview list is Stanford Wong, and you may be a part of it.
On the day that I was assembling the questions to ask Wong, I was speaking with one of the members here. I asked if she had a question for Stanford, that's when I came up with the idea to see if the members wanted to know something in particular about Stanford. I already have many questions lined up, but will add some if the members provide any that are pertinent. Try to put them into a context that you believe he will want to answer. After Stanford, we have confirmation to add, (in no particular order), Joe Pane, Max Rubin, Hollywood Dave, Kenny Einiger, and others.

First off, I would like to congratulate Stanford on his status as the greatest living short-con artist in advantage play history.

    Here are my questions:

    1. When exactly did the light bulb go off in his head to join forces with the known scam artists from the Golden Touch "dice control" crowd? further, how did he get so many normally level-headed ap's to buy into this farce?

    2. Explain the genius of finding posters with short term win rates from the free page of his ssb site, then turning them into pay per view "hosts", where the suckers who visit his site gladly fork over first a fee to get picks, then buckets of their hard earned cash to the books when these picks from the "hosts" regress to the coin flip mean.

    3. How does he maintain his status as a "blackjack expert" despite not earning a penny from a casino in over 20 years?

Thank you for passing these along.

    Questions for Stanford

Thanks for the interest. I may rephrase them a little before I ask him, but keep the questions coming.

    Proportional Betting

S.YAMA in a reply to eastexaspro (See Well Said).

“ETP, are you asking about bets that represent part of your bankroll proportional to the edge the game offers? Are you referring to one of the worst ideas Wong put in his tournament book?”

My question is. Does Wong stand by his view on proportional betting and would he like to change anything in his book?

I had the second part on the list, but I will also ask the first part.

    Progressions, etc.

Wong's use of progressions in his book assumes that the max bet is all in, or nearly all in. What are his ideas for progressions or other catch up bets when the max bet is only a minor fraction of the bankroll?

Does he still advocate betting minimum most of the round in the table elimination format, or are there conditions in which he would recommend some other strategy?

Does he still play blackjack tournaments other than the WSOB?

Just in case anyone might be confused, LVHCM is not Anthony Curtis despite his use of AC's photo as his avatar. When I asked Curt whether I should have LVHCM change the avatar, he just shrugged his shoulders and said it wasn't a big deal.

    Ken,

I can assure you my aim was never to impersonate the legendary Anthony Curtis.

Rather, my avatar pays homage to AC, perhaps the world's greatest living advantage player, and the person I aspire to be when/if I grow up.
