Dinner Thursday 12th for Winstar tournament

Hi all, I have dinner reservations at Applebees again on the 12th of June the night before the Winstar event.

Anyone wishing to join us for dinner please let me know ASAP so I can let them know how many tables we will need.

Hope to see lots of players next Thursday and Saturday.

Is 8 all we have for this dinner? So many folks from this forum are going to be in town for the BJT, and it's a lot easier to meet and greet the folks who post here at a venue like that than it is at the tournament site.

late flight in

I look forward to meeting all bjt.com members on Friday. Unfortunately, my flight arrives in Dallas at 11:00pm on Thursday night. Otherwise, I would have loved to have met everyone at the dinner.

Dinner at 8:00...

I told them (Applebees) we will be there at 8:00 p.m.
We will have our own section (same as last month), as of now I've heard of about 20 players coming to dinner this time.

See everybody on Thursday evening at Applebees.

Winstar manager at dinner?

I have invited the manager from Winstar to dinner Thursday night at Applebees. He told me he'll try and make it, if he comes he can answer questions players have about the buying and selling of the "Hot Seat" chips.

 

It'd be great if he made it, altho I'd have my doubts that he could get away on the night before such a big event.
Sure would be excellent, though, I'd like to meet him again, this time away from the pressure cooker of the casino floor.

 

Big turnout for dinner

We had around 50 players show up for dinner last night at Applebees. We also had the management from Winstar come and answer questions about the "Split" tournament, rules, and getting barred for seling/buying chips.

It was very cool for a manager Winstar to take time out of his schedule to come talk to the players in person. He explained how and why things are being done the way they are and answered everyones questions.

It was very nice having casino management taking the time to meet with the players to do this. I was VERY impressed with the manager for doing so.

I want to personally thank the manager for showing up last night and wish good luck to everyone playing in the Winstar tournament tomorrow.

 

What a great turnout for this dinner! TxTourplayer had reserved an entire section of the restaurant but even that proved too small to accommodate everyone. Sad to say but some ended up in the adjacent section. Seemed to us that a very good time was had by all.

It was excellent that Winstar's BJ tournament director was able to attend. Listening to him discuss subjects such as the tightening of rules regarding the wild-&-wooly chip brokering that went on during the night before the May tournament was quite informative. Quite frankly, I found his reasoning to be perfectly logical from the "house" point of view. Even though he singled me out as being the author of a couple of incorrect posts in other threads on this forum, I didn't mind a bit. As I've always said, if I post something wrong then I'll gladly jump right up and admit it. Our thanks (again) to him for finding the time to attend, and also to TxTourplayer for setting it up.

Winstar dinner this Thusday...

For the last time we will meet at Applebees in Gainsville this Thursday July 10th, the night before the final Winstar "SPLIT" qualifier.

We will meet at 8:00 p.m. again and this time I was told we will have more waitress for our group. Last month I told them to expect around 20 players, we had over 60 show up.

Hope to see everybody there again for food, drinks, Bj conversations, and all around good time.
