i recently had this in a tournament i cannot recall the amounts we had but i'll try to explain the situation. it was the final hand, BR1 had betted the same amount as i did (BR2), i can't remember if there were any other players but they were not of importance if there were. Now BR1 showed a total of 18, the dealer showed a 9, and i had 9 in total, now i saw there were too ways of winning this: either 1) i had to double down and hope we both won from the dealer. or 2) i just hit cards hoping to get 19 or more, and then if dealer has 19 i have a swing, or what i would call a semi swing (he loses and i push, that was enough to win) what is more likely to succeed? and does anyone has a sheet or website with a lot of percentages? like how likely dealer to bust with that card, how likely doubledown succeeds with your total and dealers upcard etc etc?
Some of the kinds of percentages you are looking for are available here: Dealer Outcome Charts Double Down Results For the situation you describe, here are some results from combinatorial analysis: Doubling, BR2 will succeed 37.8% of the time. Hitting to 19 or higher succeeds only 30.9% of the time. Note that this includes BR1 doubling if BR2's double yields a 19 or 20.
thank you for the exact numbers. i have to start to do some combinatorial analysis myself i guess. well nice anyway that i choose the right action there (double down), but i lost anyway
