Flyer I got today from the Edgewater says there is a "Blackjack Invitational Tournament" in August - at the "Colorado Belle and Edgewater" - no other info

    Hopefully the same week

I hope it is the same weekend as the TBJPA events, so the players can have another event to play in while they are in Laughlin.

If so it should help both locations with attendance.

    I little OT here

but I got the River Palms mailer and it has the TBJPA on the calendar. Also TBJPA is on http://www.laughlinentertainer.com/articles/2007/07/03/entertainment/tournaments/ now. Another Laughlin game Im working on detailed info for is at Aquarius in late July looks like an open event with a very reasonable buy in. The person I talked with wasnt real sure on the detailed details but said they are planning 4 more this year. It seems they are 25K tournaments put on by marketing and player development. I have a call from the marketing director due in today-altho I will be gone most of it. Even if I miss her I should have solid info very soon. The first contact said these are 3 round elimination games.

    fwiw

BTW, I will probably regret never giving Egewater any play. The lady who directs the mini does a great job during the weekly games. I hope the new owner changes the regular BJ games so I can sit down every once in a while.

    Mini Edgewater

Well on my end of June Laughlin visit it appears the EW $1,500 twice weekly overlay BJ tourney is history. The rules sheet was ripped off the cage bars, the signage vanished and the one idle dealer I quizzed said it is discontunued.

EW & CB rolled out the new owner's slot card July 1st too. There is nothing playable in VP anymore in either joint. A total devastation.

Both joints are 100% TITO now on the floor.

    One eye

That is sad news re no EW mini. Very sad.

Maybe this is a time for DHiggy at River Palms to move in on the mini game that was very popular at EW. Lets hope a casino fills the void.

River Palms is looking at hosting weeklys

I have been talking to Dan about hosting some weekly events. He told me in May they were wanting to start hosting some.

Dan is really wanting to build up the River Palms events.
