    Elimination hand #16 of a 1-table Sit-n-Go

    Seat 1: 9,000
    *Seat 2: 22,500
    YOU: 23,500

Seat 2 bets 4,000. What do you bet?

Personally I bet 4000 myself. My rationale:

If seat 1 bets 9000 ( likely scenario) and wins they double to 18,000. If you bet 4,000 and lost you've got 19,500 and you still avoid elimination.

If seat 1 bets 9000 and get BJ they have 27,000. [actually have 22,500 incorrect math] With your 4,000 bet if you win you get 27,500 and stay BR1.

The ONY way you can loose betting 4,000 is if seat one gets BJ, seat 2 wins and you lose. However since you go AFTER seat 2 just mimic what they do.

    Just my .02

    ??

How do you get 27,000. Would a blackjack on a 9,000 bet pay 13,500 giving a total of 22,500. That way a loss on a 500 bet would give you a total of 23,000, covering the bj win of seat 1. I would say 500 is the way to go.

You are correct in your math and I wasn't!

Personally I'd still bet the 4000 to "stay up/ahead" with seat 2.

Of course, that is the question...staying even with BR2 vs. locking against a BR3 BJ in an elimination hand. I chose the $4000 match and lost to a BR3 BJ and a BR2 19 against my stiff hand and a dealer 8. I think with so many hands to go, the argument is probably that I shoul not have correlated here, risking the KO.

    Toonces,

There U go! I would've done the same and that's why you listen and learn from the pros here like Jm and others - evidence once again of a valuable lesson learned - one I will not forget.

    Take the sure win

I would bet $500 and eliminate any chance of losing your advancement.

Why give BR3 any chance to beat you? If they do pull a BJ and swing you with a bigger bet on that hand your gone. Advance first and then worry about the other player head to head. Chances are they lose their $4,000 bet anyway and which case you'll even increase you lead going into the last 9 hands.

Now even if BR2 win and you lose your still alive and only down $3,500 to 7,500 (should BR2 hit a DD swing), with a new set of 9 hands to play before the next elimination hand.

You start counting your chickens before they're hatched and you can get yourself in trouble.

    This is just my opinion.

Yoo are right, TX. I gave BR3 a chance to hit his 2-outer to beat me. :)
