If you dare - please tell me some of your mishaps so I wont feel so bad...the other night I was really thinking about my bet and timed out! I KNOW I could have cashed. Now, last night I saw someone hit a 20!!! These don't have to be on-line. And you could pretend it happened to your "friend" if you don't want to take the credit.
Getting the online time-out is not uncommon, don't feel bad. Sometimes people get phone calls, or the kids erupt into trouble....... I tried to commit BJ "Suicide" a couple of night ago when I was hopelessly behind in a worthless TEC chip game, so I DD'ed on hard 20. And got an ace. :vomit: Deb was getting rather deep into a monthly "winner gets the trip and TV table" when she accidentally clicked the max bet button instead of the min bet she meant to hit. She was the chip leader, now everyone could bet min and watch her fall right by them. She won the hand. Amazing!
I fell aspleep... twice on my laptop waiting for the final round to begin (I keep the sound off because it drives my wife crazy)...and was eliminated. I did cash both times, but in sixth and last place. Another time, four players left, I had a big lead and nature called. The guys played so fast that when I came back I was eliminated. Distractions, tv, the kids, etc. lead to not paying attention, misclicking, making bad decisions. Join the club and have fun.
Insurance For Less I time out quite often when I try to insure for less. They don't give you enough time to calculate the bet and click it in.
Hell YES, Monkeysystem! I had one just like that in a freeroll qualifying final round recently. I was BRL, need to insure for less to give me an excellent high-low cover for surviving an elimination hand. Got timed out before I could make the bet, dealer flipped the BJ, and I was gone. A good friend of mine plays on a less than optimal connection and complains that sometimes he's only got a couple of seconds to respond by the time the graphics come up. I hear that this happens in the cash games, too. I understand why the software in both cash and freeroll games doesn't allow much time for insurance, some folks don't realize that they're being asked and a longer timer would simply delay the game. A change could be made to allow reasonably adequate time. If someone responds in the affirmative for insurance, re-start the clock with a bit more time.
?? are there time limits in casino games? it seems like that is the biggest one. glad to know others do it - even you pros....it seems like bj is worse than hold em as my husband never seems to have a problem like these. then again he usually takes the laptop everywhere - out to grill and into the bathroom - etc. so he can keep playing.
where's the batteries Worst Moment was in a final hand on the $2500 monthly on Get21, Was BR2 but betting 2nd, BR1 Bets Max, I goto bet and the batteries have gone on my cordless mouse, Mad scramble to change and of couurse system bets Min for Me, I draw 11 against dealers 6, BR1 draws 18 and stays, Batteries back in convinced i've lost just as software autostands on 11, Cursing the dealer turns over a hidden 5 followed by a 9, we both lose and I win :joker: but always keep a spare set of batteries by me now!
Timing out.. If you are on UBT, you have to uncheck the "full animation" in options then save it as default. I have never had a problem timing out after doing that. I don't play any other online BJ games, so I don't have info on those.
Poor Guy Today on the final table of a 50+5 UB Tourney a guy with a clearly winning hand accidently hit his hard 18 and bust, losing to finish out of the money completely as only 4 spots were paid. Oops, wrong button. ps. I finished 4th, dammit.
Just Yesterday at Blackjack21.com I found myself with a pair of 8s, unsure whether or not to follow BS and split them. I had a modest lead and would be giving up the low by splitting. I split and of course got another 8 on one of the resulting hands. At this point I decided there was no turning back and resplit to three hands. Boths resplits received 10s to make totals of 18; the other I think got a 7, for 15. I then somehow managed to get confused about the order in which I was playing these three hands - stood on the 15 and hit an 18 to bust it. It was only when the card arrived at the wrong hand that I realised what had happened. Doh!
