Even with a good bet still needed luck

I made it to the finals again Wednesday night at my area casino. Took quite a bit of luck on the last hand of the semis.

After 19 hands I was BR1 with $1235 and had last bet. BR2 had $1000 so I wasn't in a bad position. It was just the 2 of us.

    BR2 bet $300(max bet).

I bet $200, giving me both high and low. I could also cover a BJ(2-1) or double by BR2.

BR2 was dealt 7-4, I had 10-3, but don't remember what the dealer had. BR2 of course doubled and got a 10 for 21.

I knew there was no choice for me(unless I could count on the dealer getting 21), I had to double. So I pushed another $200 out and got a 3 for my trouble. Again, I don't remember what the dealer had but the fact that he busted, putting me in the semis but $35.

Didn't have any luck in the finals so I finished 6th which was good for $208.
