The member Stacks from this site lives in Jacksonville and has offered to host some "LIVE" sit and go tournaments at his house after we get back from the cruise for any players wanting to stay an extra day or two in Jacksonville. Stacks was one of the "AOL" seat winners for this years WSOB. Stacks (John) caught 3rd place on the first show this year, finishing behind Tommy and Paul. Stacks has invited everybody from the cruise to attend the sit and go events at his house, if you decide to stay over a day or two. Both Swog and I are willing to hang around jacksonville for a couple of days.
The Tourney is ON! Local feedback (other then "I never played a BJ tournament") is great and lots of people would like to attend. My expectations are increasing to 25+ people so far and its likely that we can get 2 full tourneys going back to back or throw in a single table or two sit N go's as the final table finishes up. We have a plenty of room to set up 4 to 6 tables with no problem and Tex is providing the tables, chairs, chips, and dealers. Everyone is welcome, so come enjoy a little Florida hospitality, and take advantage of the inexperienced locals. Even the St Louis Mafia is welcome The keg will be on ice and I'll provide food and snacks. We can even play the 05 and 06 WSOB on the bigscreen in the background. Let me know if we need to get some hotel quotes nearby, and FYI, there is a paramutual dog/horse track w/ poker room very near by. Sound like fun? Interested? let Rick and I know. Only change's.... I am only bringing 3 - 4 blackjack tables and supplies with me on this trip and "NO CHAIRS". We use the chairs furnished by the cruise line for our tournaments. Stacks you'll need to rent about 32 chairs for the party. At your house we can play 7 players per table with 2 advance. We will still offer rebuys and have $5 to $200 betting limits still (Note: all bets and chips used will have "NO CASH VALUE"). I know of 10 players from the cruise that said they would like to attend your home party. That will give us at least 35 players for your event plus re-buys. At a $30 entry + re-buys (up to 2) that would be over $1,500 prize pool (per tournament) with 100% return. If we start at 6:00 pm and only run 14 hand rounds we could do two tournaments that evening. Once we have open table(s) we can start offering Sit & Go events as well.
Sounds good. I'll get some chairs ordered. Tex, do you have a BJ tourney rule sheet that I can pass out to people before the tournement? Most of the people coming have never heard of a BJ tourny before and this will be thier first time. Stacks
Call for directions for Jax BJT After the cruise, which is next week, Jennifer and I are hosting a Blackjack Tournament put on by Tex and crew. Everyone is welcome ... even youze guyz in Florida that are not going on the cruise. Buyins will be on the cheaper side, under $50, and we are planning 2 tournaments with re-buys. FRIDAY, AUGUST 18 @ 6PM Call us if your running rate!! We'll try to get you in. Email me for mapquest directions and feel free to call me on my cell with any questions. This is for FUN, EDUCATION, PROMOTION of Tournament BlackJack Play, and to enjoy a little Florida Hospitality with this social gathering. Poker chips have no cash value! We are looking forward to seeing everyone there! Give us a call or email John (Stacks) jgfla@comcast.net 904-571-2227
Jacksonville Jealousy Every now and again certain posts on here make me cringe with envy. This is one of them because I would love to be able to take up Stacks offer of an invite to his house for the Blackjack Tournament party. What a gracious gesture by our members Stacks and TXtourplayer for putting this together. Good luck to John and Rick and I hope it all goes well. PS From what I have heard, if the St Louis Mafia turns up, you may need more than one keg on ice  Andy
