I was looking at the calender and while September seems chock full of tournaments is it just my imagination or is there a big drop off from October onward? Is this usual that there are less tournaments in the fall or is it just me?
Many times the casinos I follow update the their own calendars late in the month if not first days of new month....
You have to use your imagination. I noticed you can take a great driving vacation while taking in the Fall colors. Start off by driving to Tunica for the Fitzgerald's tournament Oct 5 to Oct 7. Then a quick drive to Las Vegas for the Millionaire Qualifier at the Hilton Oct. 10 to Oct. 12. Then a very scenic drive to Little Creak Casino in Washington state on Oct 14. Then you are off to Michigan for the Kewadin Casino - St Ignace event on Oct 19 to Oct. 21. After that its Niagara Fallsview Casino - Niagara Falls, ON for the Canadian Masters of Blackjack Qualifiers on Oct. 24. Then back home. All those tournaments in one month! Only problem is that you'll probably never want to drive again for the rest of your life. But that's not so bad - is it? PS: You can also turn this into a social event, you know, kill two birds with one stone. Simply find out where your buddies on this site live and "drop in" for lunch/dinner - maybe even breakfast! Save some cash that way in the process.
St. Ignace is 10/19 - 10/21. I only mention it because I'd previously said that we would be there, but it turns out there is a clash with a lifelong close friend's 50th B-day bash. Life has priorities. Friends outrank BJ tournaments, no contest.
Tulsa October Tournaments Cherokee Casino & Resort is looking at October 24th - 28th for blackjack tournaments. I'll let you know more as soon as everything gets approved. Hope to see all of you (& more) here again!
Toolman1 I admire your notion of leisurely drives. Now with a 480 corvette with room for your--- and a gallon of gas (everyone knows the final couplet)one would rival ye olde cross country races from NY to Santa Monica. Bleary eyed, sore and addicted to the motion of the car, I doubt there'd be any concentration left for the CARDS. But that might work out just as well. Just ask Alice when she's ten feet tall.
Isn't anticipation half the fun! So you get half your fun from anticipating tournament play and the other half in the "joy" of driving and taking in the beauty of the country. So you end up with 100% joy so it doesn't matter if one is too tired to play a tournament with any smarts.
