I'm sure many regulars here fondly remember heading to Vegas to play the trifecta of tournaments at the Stardust, Riviera, and New Frontier. With the Riviera closing today at noon, none of those properties will exist any more. An era gone.
How well I remember those days! An easy walk to play in all four of them (counting the " Midnight Madness" at the Riv.) Billy C
What a shame..... and with tournaments closing up all over the country now, too. I discovered this game far too late to get in on the glory days, and envy you long-timers your memories from those oldies but goodies.
So true. As I write this, I'm at Grand Casino (Hinckley, MN) which is where I won my very first BJ tournament in or around 1996 (1st paid 20k then). There is going to be a good mid range event here on May 21-22 (guaranteed purse with 10k for 1st place. Toughest overall field I've probably ever seen as the geriatric locals play in "minis" someplace most everyday of the week. Don't let anyone tell you that Ole and Sven can't play BJ!!!
