In the wake of the baseball and rugby posts, I've found myself wasting any amount of time browsing YouTube, looking for half-remembered sporting incidents. I unearthed a few classics I thought you might enjoy - World Rally Championship Marcus Gronholm is at least as entertaining when being interviewed as when driving. Here he surpasses himself with his graphic description, complete with hand gesture, of the terrible fate which befell his co-driver, Timo Rautiainen. (And apparently it turned out to have been a metal rod, not a stone. ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqQhQSbe6fw Footb...oh alright, soccer! For years I've remembered seeing a 'wonder-goal' on TV when I was a kid, and wondered why it never gets shown on any of the compilation packages that are endlessly broadcast. To the point where I thought it might be something I had dreamt up. But no, here it is. Not quite as stunning as I remembered it, but maybe that's because I know what's coming. Andy should be pleased as this features his team, Bolton Wanderers. (Apologies for the music; strange people in Bolton. ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0z_arXZ8nM And from the sublime to the truly ridiculous, a much more recent incident that may show why Andy supports Bolton rather than his home town of Bury.:joker: This one does get shown over here a lot, but I assume it's fame hasn't crossed the Atlantic with the Beckhams. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCgTxER-41M
With onions For the perfect liver punch see this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UeYWanxhfs Nails!!! Cheers Reachy
Wonder goal. It was nice to see that Frank Worthington goal again Colin. It certainly inspired that little boy (Julian Darby) who you can see jumping for joy behind the goal. He later went on to play professional football for Bolton Wanderers and other teams before becoming a first team coach at Derby County, which just happens to be Reachy’s favourite team. Andy
And now for something competely different I love the guy getting a goal off his own face. Folks get paid for that over there? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqbVbPvlDoM If you can watch this and not smile, you must be dead. Turn up the sound!!!
This is my favorite sports moment and the clip of Kirk Gibson pumping his fists as he rounded the bases. I looked a couple months ago and found a few different sources but this is the best I can find now I dont know whats up!? http://video.google.com/videoplay?d...=93&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=0 http://video.google.com/videoplay?d...100&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=0
