But a bird sings, not because it has to, but because it has a song.

    ONE SMALL STEP FOR HOOSIERS.
    ONE GIANT LEAP FOR "GAMBLERS."

IN Wire Service: "The Indiana Licensed Beverage Association, has scheduled 11 statewide meetings to promote legalization of electronic gambling machines in restaurants, taverns and fraternal and social clubs with liquor liscenses. The meetings will build the necessary statewide coalition to persuade lawmakers that legalized electronic gaming will generate significant tax revenues for every community within the state and THE STATE" #####

Currently, IN has seven "boats," a Hoosier Lottery and is a member of the Powerball "group." It allows and issues special use permits for "charity" bingo, "Vegas Nights," and "Hold-em" fundraiser tournaments(usually 25% or higher vig.

But video or mechanical gaming machines, pull tabs, bar/club lottery tickets, football boards 13 or 33 run clubs, etc are ILLEGAL!

The State Police/State Excise make routine "raids" of establishments serving alcohal, in search of the illegal gaming, with severe penalties to the places caught and or convicted. Severe, as in loss of liquor liscense and closure.

Many places(reg bars, social clubs, fraternal org., yes even the FOP or Firefighters lodges) have gone "prohibition era" with concealed back rooms to hide the illegal machines. And the phone net work with the drum beat warning when the PO PO are in town. You get caught, you're stupid. Or you didn't pay somebody off.

By convincing the legislature,(in IN) of the tax revenue potential the "Bar Owners," read that long convoluted, high falutin, impressive sounding association name, listed above, hope to avoid all the "cloak and dagger."

If successful, IN (thru the Bar Owners,) will demonstrate to other state's lawmakers and national politicians to stop "fightin it." And just TAX it.

This is the real and easier alternative to fightin "on-line" games and betting. The difficulties of enforcement to off shore sites as pertains to American citizens are still complex. But, this first step in IN could be the foundation for the stairway up the Temple Mount.
