Is There Anybody That Can Give Me Any Advice on Playing In The LV Hilton Qualifier In March. This Will Be My First Time In It! I Have Been In 4 So Far And I Won My Second One For $5000 At The Stratosphere. :D

    Good luck!

For the Hilton, using classic Wong strategy is usually the best move against most players. Really the best thing you can do is pick up a copy of his "Casino Tournament Strategy" and study, study, study. if you're willing to spend a cool $1000 on a tourney entry fee, then the $15 or so for the book should be a no brainer.

Bottom line is, bet minimum until about 2/3 of the way through the tourney & hope one or more people bust out or lose a significant portion of their chips. If you fall too far behind & the leader(s) stop betting big, then you'll have to make a catch-up bet -- either by locking into a progression or by betting contrary enough to retake the lead (they bet small, you bet huge -- or they bet big, you bet small). Once in the lead, match their bets as closely as possible to maintain it -- remember, the odds of you and another opponent having the same result on any given hand (both win/both lose) are as high as 88%!

But the real skill of tourney play comes down to the Endgame, or last 1-3 hands, and this is where the make-or-break skill lies. No quick tips are gonna save you here, you really need to pick up a copy of Wong's book to start being able to think about bet correlations the right way. Sometimes its a no brainer -- you have a huge chip lead & just bet enough to cover yourself if you lose while they push -- but most of the time , something "interesting" happens. Have fun, and don't be afraid to study that book! You'll need to if you wanna be the best you can be --
