They had a tourney on June 29th... went from 6pm to approx 11pm when it finished. 1st place was just over 10K..... the casino took the entry fees and then added on a guaranteed $5k for 1st....... 2nd place $2800...... 3rd place was $1780.... 4th $900..... 5th $700...... 6th $480.......

The entry was $100...... or you could qualify with a $20 buy in on a qualifier early in the month.... top scores qualify... not positive how many they put in the tourney or score you needed.

It was a decent crowd.....i would guess about 100.

I finished 3rd...... didn't really get the good cards in the last round so I played to outlast as many as I could..... once I was secure in 3rd..... I went for it to catch 2nd but ended up going bust......

I will not complain, anytime I make a final table I consider it a victory.....

They are planning another at the end of august I believe... should be able to keep track on their website.

    Congrats

Congrats Mrospi on your 3rd place finish at Wild Horse. I was at your semifinal table and was last when the chip countdown came - my usual place at countdown lately. I ended up as only 3rd at that semifinal. I stayed around to watch the finals and when their were only 2 players left the player in 2nd place (and eventually finished 2nd) kept making relatively small bets even though considerably behind. I guess that kind of betting got him through 2 rounds to the finals.

    Hi Bluelight,

Thanks. I was really fortunate in the semifinals.... all i remember at the time was that i split my first 2 cards and double down on the second hand... so i had all my money out there $1500 and i got lucky.... believe the dealer ended up busting. After that I just wanted to play it safe as long as the dealer started taking people down... I plan to return for their next one.....best of luck

Hey, some more Zonies! I don't wanna be too redundant from my 'newbie' message -- but I'm also in metro PHX, luv 21, & recently became aware of local tourneys. Wow Mrospi, u done good; & the detailed post was very informative to someone like me, beginning to learn the particulars. I have a question: Is it difficult keeping track of the other players' chip value? Like, are there rules to ensure a clean line of vision?

I know the game itself very well, & hoping to embark on the tournament version of play b4 too long. Just found this site, def like what I've seen here. Perhaps I'll be listing my own winnings one day soon :D . Congrats on placing, & continued good luck.

    Hi Ladytopaz,

Most tourneys have a rule about keeping chips in clear view for everyone and most have count downs on tourney's.. usually with 5 hands left to give everyone an idea of the chip counts for all players so you can decide your betting strategy the rest of the way. Casino Arizona is having a tourney Monday night and Gila River is having another one at the end of the month. We just return from a Laughlin tourney at the Ramada.... finished 13th.... my mom trumped me and finished 5th.....nothing significant prize money ......Gila River website has the tourney info
