The big question is: will they have another tournament, if so WHEN? After the bugs were worked out , locking up ect. I thought it went well. Looking forward to more of their events.

I've e-mailed GP and they are considering running the new "Multi-Player" tournament regularly - perhaps even weekly - I also gave some specific ideas and suggestions. They have a history with their 3 round "Gamemaster" BJ tournament monthly now for 40 months, so they will stick with something once it gets up and running smoothly.

Sunday's turn out nearly doubled from the first "test" tournament the week before (week 1: 26 paid $15 and 23 showed up) to week 2 (46 paid $30 and 42 showed up). The one hour delay in Sunday's tournament was a connectivity issue from their internet provider as I understand it and things went very well after it was resolved.

They love to get feedback and suggestions from players. Send them to support@global-player.com. If you find a bug or have a suggestion they implement they will give you $25 based on my past experience with them over the last 3 years or so.

They are a good site with nice blackjack game variety and are honest, reliable and pay rapidly. I'm also Xanax over there if you run into me in chat or a tournament.

The next Multi-Player Blackjack Tournament at Global Player has been scheduled for Saturday Nov 13th. Details here.

I'm also planning to sponsor a free tournament there with cash prizes in early December. I'll post details after things firm up.

    Sounds great

Alright Ken, your putting up a $10,000 cash 1st prize for only a $20 entry fee way to go, oh I'm sorry it is only $5,000 for 1st...LOL.

All kidding aside sounds great just let us know.

Sounds nice Ken! For those of us who don't read this board every day, maybe you could also email your customers (in addition to the post on your site). For a nominal endorsement fee, I'll start wearing BJtournament.com ballcaps and t-shirts at the tables on their other events!

again - nice idea Ken - best of luck to you setting it up - I look forward to it. Do you know if this is the way the "Gamemaster" does it with that tournament? Does he pay the cash prize? If so, there doesn't seem to be much mention of his sites in the e-mails, web pages, etc. Maybe he just helped get them set up with the tournament look and feel and does it as a friend of the owner?

    Sponsored events

Well, unless Rick is willing to ante up most of the prize money, we won't be seeing a $10K prize pool!

I don't know what the GameMaster's arrangement with them is, but you're right about it not being very branded for GameMaster. I don't expect that he's putting up prize pool money.

In the case of my sponsored event, we're currently planning a $1000 prize pool, with free entry limited to BlackjackTournaments.com members only. The current date is early December, and as soon as we finalize the details, I'll post information here about how to enter.

Xanax, I expect to post it here, and after a couple of days if it's not filled up, then I'll email just the BJT members. I don't expect to send that email, but we'll see. I'm afraid you'll have to check in regularly for a while. ;)

Investing in prize money seems a little crazy for me, since the only income from this site is referral money, but I really want this idea to succeed and it just seems like a fun thing to do. (A big thanks goes out to the many of you who have already signed up through the GP links I've provided here!)

Great idea Ken: txtourplayer to fund it for 10K, after all it would be a business (advertising) write off and would not cost him a dime since it would lower his companys taxes and all businesses need write offs.

Pokernut, you don't get a 100% tax credit for business expenses so it would cost TX more than a dime, you only get a deduction based on the tax bracket you are in, so if TX was in the 30% bracket his tax deduction for a $10,000 investment would be $3,000 not $10,000 and he would be out of pocket $7,000, Im sure Rick is financially independent but not dumb

But if you are spending advertising money anyway, just spend it on the tourney instead of another item then it would not cost anything extra just reallocation of advertising budget.

    Financially independent?

Rookie789, that is funny, maybe just maybe I can afford the dime...LOL

All kidding aside I can see Ken getting sponsorship from several areas to put on a very nice tournament, but until we get more players playing online it is going to be hard to sell advertising.
